Are you guys on "dumb" pills today ? C-bolt, I merely point out that Logan doesn't duck people. But here is a tip from Coaching 101 -- you never, NEVER purposely schedule a Bigger tougher program FOR LATER IN THE SEASON. You schedule them in the first game when they are weakest before they get rolling. However, you are playing a program with multiple Jr . Hi., giving better preparation of players as well as more players. I can construct a schedule of D-I schools that Logan wouldn't beat. What does that accomplish ? You play D-I schools or programs that are smaller but very good to improve your team, getting them ready to compete for a league title AND get ready for the playoffs. Is there another goal that I'm not getting ? Maybe some secret code ? Logan's overall record speaks to the folly of playing Lancaster. Its been a mismatch and from that you gain NOTHING. Heres a schedule==
Iggy
St. Eds
Warren Harding
Canton McKinley
Massillon
Mentor
Glenville
Davidson
Steubenville
Ursuline

Those 10 games would be lost almost every year . Its possible to bite off more than you can chew . But you can be competitive with other teams and having winning programs that MIGHT put you in a position to play one of those teams and win in the playoffs. MAYBE.

Nothing could have been done about it but with Logan having a new coach..new system....they should not have played Lancaster the 1st game.....we came out to beat up.

Sorry Paldi can't buy into that theory either.Logan competes just fine with Nerwark and their "multiple jr.high feeders" and if you really think Lancaster is on the same playing field with those teams I got a nice ,rusty bridge in Brooklyn to sell you,but i know your just being sarcastic, good one, or maybe i been taking too many "dumb pills" to figure you out

Their other sports teams, who used to win or finish second in the SEOAL ALL Sports Trophy are now struggling . Travel , while on better roads, is still long. I hear numbers are down and the kids are broken. They aren't competitive and don't see a reason to play. How long would you as a parent allow that to continue ? Heat is on the administration. This isn't a coaching issue. You can bite off more than you can chew and that's what Marietta did with the stupid move to the ECOL. The dummy who lead that move should be horse whipped.
Marietta is more than competitive in the ECOL with the exception of football and boys basketball. Football has never been competitive and in their best years in the SEOAL the were .500. Boys basketball would not have faired much better in the SEOAL then past couple years with Warren and Portsmouth being tough. Travel is much easier in ECOL and yes the competition is good. Things are cycles in High School sports, look no further than the current run Athens is on. That had much more to do with the athletes that walk the halls than what league they are in. If the ECOL had an all sports trophy Marietta would be in the running for that each year as well.

Marietta has also been down in track after leaving the SEOAl...girls and boys

I'm not aware that Marietta has been good in anything in the ECOL. And certainly in the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ sports, football and basketball, they suck. The coaches I talk with say they can't compete. The Zanesville Times Recorder shows ECOL results and Marietta isn't good in much of anything there. The Super at Marietta isn't big on sports and the Principal is an old ECOL guy. Suits him fine. But it doesn't do anything for the kids of Marietta to be in the ECOL. I'm not sure if parents are aware that the Super doesn't care about them taking big beatings in sports or that the Principal is in LaLa Land because he is an ECOL guy. All I know is parents are upset and they are the ones to demand moving the sports back to the SEOAL. While the Principal maybe somewhat immune, the Super is exposed and will encounter big trouble if he doesn't move soon.

I'm not sure it is the parents job to demand anything as to where teams play, conferences your in etc. maybe that works in Logan but not everywhere else. Instead of complaining about coaches and administrators why not have Johnny get off his hind end and start working on getting better. Kids in Zanesville and Dover and Cambridge are not born better players they work at it. Maybe mom, dad and others need to stop playing the entitlement card or trying to find a conference where you can win. Start holding the kids accountable for the results. Everyone wants a "program" but very few are willing to do what it takes including the community. The ECOL is just fine and other sports are doing just fine.

You are grasping for reasons to try and find schools to come to your league to save it. I have talked with the AD and coaches and the ones I have talked to are happy. Pick on PHS or South, PHS hasn't won anything is some time so start coming up with all your reasons why they must join the SEOAL.

One big reason is travel time which translates into money.

I know at PHS that the team pays for all travel so the schools part is very little. They have been traveling for a long time.
