I feel being the one seed will be huge because of the big drop off from 3 to 4.

The drop off is huge but the fact that 2 has to play 3 is just as big. Teams gotta look at it as a Convo play in game. The intensity will match a district championship game.
I'm not ready to give LE the #1 seed just yet. The win at Athens was huge but unless they go undefeated the Athens/Warren game is still THE GAME! Does a win in December have as much weight in the draw room as the Warren/Athens winner late January. I don't believe it does.
GO BIG BAD BLUE!

lol ... it will be interesting to say the least. But given Athens had about 10 days of practice and it was only a 60-59 game, if the Bulldogs go on to have a tremendous season they may be able to overcome a "1-point' loss on the board and still claim the No. 1 seed.EasternDspy wrote:Coach Stiverson will be pounding the table saying we beat Athens.
It all depends on how the rest of the season shakes out. Still lots of hoops to be played. But as of right now, Logan Elm definitely has the upper hand.

Re: DII Logan Sectional
The thing is there isn't much difference between No. 2 and No. 3 ... so if Warren beats Athens, especially by more than 1 point, they will stake claim to the No. 1 seed and Athens and LE still have to play each other.
What will be really interesting is if Athens beats Warren - then all bets are off.
Can we (all of us D2 fans) just boo the heck out of Fairland for putting us in this position? And Waverly.

We'll see just how big the drop off from 3-4 is this Friday night.EasternDspy wrote:I feel being the one seed will be huge because of the big drop off from 3 to 4.
Re: DII Logan Sectional
This year would be a good time to do away with the old boys network and seed the sectional/district the way the rest of the state does. Then the 3 seed could pick who they wanted to play, that would make for some interesting discussions. Also we would not know matchups until after, but would do away with all your speculation of who plays who.
Re: DII Logan Sectional
I'm not saying they're going to win, but Fairfield Union is starting to find some stride and could be a shocker for one unlucky, higher seeded team come tournament time. Jordan Barr is legit.

I agree with the fact that it is time for the southeast district to let teams choose where they want to go on the bracket. There are arguments against this, but it enables coaches to have some options. It is all about match ups and the current method does not allow for that.

I truly hate to wish my life away but I can't wait to see this sectional and the following district action play out.

*UPDATED*
DII Logan Sectional
1. Logan Elm (6-1)
2. Warren Local (5-2)
3. Athens (5-2)
4. Marietta (5-3)
5. Sheridan (5-2)
6. Vinton County (3-3)
7. Meigs (4-3)
8. Fairfield Union (3-3)
9. New Lex (2-5)
How does December impact the seeding come February?
After Bishop Watterson beat Cle St Joe yesterday(double digit lead under a min) Warren's 21 point loss on the Eagkes home court isn't a "bad" loss.
I think it still comes down to Warren/Athens Jan 21sr at the Warrior Dome. EPIC!

Re: DII Logan Sectional
Be interesting to see if 3 TVC-Ohio teams now in the sectional will make a difference.
Of course, Athens will need to beat Warren to have any impact what so ever. But if it comes down to Athens/Logan Elm for the No. 1, you have Vinton County and Meigs to perhaps help in voting. Warren would definitely vote Athens the 1 to avoid playing them in Logan. And you also have New Lex, who Athens beat handedly to open the 2013 season.
But like I said, a mute point unless the 'Dogs win in the WARRIOR DOME!

Now see I was thinking more on the lines that WHOEVER wins that matchup Jan 21st gets all those TVC & MVL votes. Logan Elm will be odd man out in the room! Braves fans are gonna hate that but until we have a Super Sectional this is gonna happen from time to time. LE is nice but at the end of the day the SOS that Warren/Athens have should carry the winner to that covered #1 seed.

23 days and all discussions and speculation will be put to rest I think.
I say we just go ahead and move the Athens vs Warren game to the Convo so everyone can watch it.
