Warrior Blue I thought we played Cols. Bishop Hartley Sunday not DeSales. I was just going by the Warren athletic schedule website. If it is, Hartley's only loss this year was by 3 to Watterson if I recall correctly.

"ANY MORE WRONG INFORMATION I NEED TO CORRECT ON THIS THREAD? ....."

93Bulldog - I agree with 98% of what you post, but in the case I believe you may need correcting. ASVSM is DII in basketball (same as Athens), not D3 as you posted. Both ASVSM and Athens are D3 in football, but both are DII in basketball. Is this correct? I am doubting myself now?

And it was their star players first game back from injury after missing several games. If all stays the same Kogn Elm deserves the number one seed. It will be a great sectional.
1. That was not V.J. King's first game back, he played in the game before the Athens match-up.
2. V.J. King is not their best player at this point, Jalen Hudson (Virginia Tech signee) is.
3. They are very much the ASVSM of old. The schedule they had played prior to Athens was incredible. (minus King for most of them)
4. They are the most talented team in D3 hands down! Just like in football, they will be in the state finals again this year. When you can recruit - and not just in Ohio but nationwide - not many D3 teams will be able to play with you.
. - AVSM is D2

Who cares who beat who by what. Each team matches up differently and
All are improving. You have to beat quality teams to advance. You will be severely tested
this year in districts unlike last year. Only one coming out so LE, Athens, or Warren going home.
Won't mean they had a bad team or bad year. This district is like many others
Around. Possibly the 2nd best team went home early. That is what is nice
About the tourney. It is not as much about the best team as it is the underdog
who makes a special run.

It was 99% until you tried to tell me that ASVSM was D3 in basketball!

Warren vs Watterson
half 32-16
3rd 47-25
4th 61-39

Athens vs SVSM
1st 14-9
half 27-23
3rd 47-41
4th 67-57

warren can't compete with the top teams. Athens might only be 6 deep but five of those kids play above the rim. If warren was the best state team for SEO they would run against Athens, not walk the ball up the court

Why are you starting this dumb argument? Those are dumb comparisons the better one is Valley since they both played them Warren handled them by 12 and Athens barely beat them. Warren and Athens are pretty even and Warren beat them when it matters.

Athens was up by double digits at half. Athens got tired in the second half. They played in Akron the night before. It will be a good one, be a single possession game all the way through

Then why are you continuously bringing down Warren?

Because warriorblue said warren is the best team to compete against state teams. That's wrong. Athens has most talent but warren plays better together

The "they beat them by this much and they beat them by this much so they are better" argument is dumb. You never know how teams match up against each other or other teams. For example, some teams don't shoot well from the perimeter and might not deal well with a team who plays zone but when they play a team who plays man they look great. The other thing you have to think about. When Valley played Warren they were barely off the football field. On top of that didn't Athens go TO SVSM Friday night and play a highly competitive ball game, then drive all the way to this game? Means nothing. Impressive that they got the win at all. Valley is supposed to be really good.

Valley was like 6-0 when Warren beat them I don't like the football excuse.

We've beaten the Bullpuppies 5 straight. Also if ANYBODY thinks Athens has 4 players that play above the rim I'll say you been spending too much time in Colorado lately. Ibi Watson is the ONLY player that Athens has that plays "Above The Rim". Running and dunking in practice doesn't count.
Both Warren and Athens have legit DI recruits in Hall & Watson. Both have great shooters in French & Borrows. Both have a nice supporting cast. A toss up in my opinion.

Burrow had 3 or 4 dunks last year in games ... and he is way more than a shooter - he's the Bulldogs leading rebounder.

:)

I am waiting to see Hall play like a D1 recurit. So far this season I would not compare him with Watson.
