Tough game tonight for the Cadets. Seth took a hard fall from about eight foot square on his back.
Several others "kissed" the new floor as well.
Now its time to take a day off, then get to working on the Seminole game plan.

This will be a very tough game for both teams. In the end I think Fort Frye wins but in a close one! Good Luck to both teams!

Much like Warren, Monroe Central has the size to out rebound FF in this game.

A 10 point win either way wouldn't surprise me, but I'll take the Seminoles simply because they are at home.

I don't think Monroe Central's press should bother FF though.

To be honest, I completely agree with PVCguru about the fact that a 10-point game either way would not be a shock. I also think that being the home team is an advantage and that could play out to be a factor as well.

Here are two reasons that I think Fort Frye will go to MC and win (and both have to do with the loss to Warren):

1.) With a loss, any quality team always tends to come into the ring swinging ... The loss showed some areas where Fort Frye needs to improve, and I am sure that those areas will be emphasized in practice. ((I said the same thing about a Warren loss leading them to a strong performance in Beverly - same idea here))

2.) Fort Frye was able to navigate the full court and half court pressure fairly effectively --- If they were able to do that against a lengthy and athletic opponent like Warren, I can imagine they will be ready for MC (Not taking anything away from them and their abilities, but Warren is an upper echelon team in this area according to most, with 3 players that can play at the next level)

I'm not sure of MC's schedule, but I feel that this game against Warren gave them a lot that they need to look at and work on and I think they will be ready to go against MC ... I rarely do this (because I try to be impartial), but I am going to say it will be Fort Frye - 64 defeating Monroe Central - 59.

I thought the Cadets were going to be a different team that did not have rely on the 3 and could get a ton of easy baskets. In the Warren game they settled for outside shots bc the taller players of a Warren shutdown the rim.No diss on Central but I highly doubt they have the height and athleticism that Warren had. This should be a fun game.

Trust me Dspy we have the athletes but maybe not the size Warren has. We like to get it and go and shoot 3's just like you. I look for the score to be in the 70's.

Could be best 2 teams in the district. This game and sat vs St Clairsville will go a long way in the first super sectional.

If I were to guess, I think Monroe Central will apply a simple man to man press most of the time without much running and jumping unless they need to.

One thing about Scooter's teams, they never quit shooting, so no lead is big enough for them.

Foul trouble could be big for both of these teams and I think there will be lots of fouls if called closely at all.

If you pick Fort Frye in this matchup, you would have been right 90% of the time in the last 20 years. Many of those years, MC had more talent or athletic ability but still found a way to lose. The change in coaching staff at both schools, is the only thing that has me more optimistic. I do not like the "style of play" that Tolzda implements though. It tends to work against lesser talented teams, but not against teams that are well disciplined or have good ball guard play.

Well I think Fort Frye matches up well vs the press.

Lang matches up well with the press.

MC has used "token" pressure at times this year. I agree with Lang in the game they will have a tough time pressuring him unless the game plan is to simply force the ball out of his hands.

They handled the Warren press and half court trap alright. I think that Warren game will help them with other games in the future.

I just like how much The Cadets love to compete. The seem like the kind of kids who live for going into a hostile environment for a big game.
