Wow, sure would like to see this be true.

Jorris will be one of the top athletes in the PVC in all sports IMO. Seminoles open with Union Local and they'll need a quarterback with an arm/speed against that pass rush.

Fort Frye in week 2 will travel to Van, WV.

Van is located in Boone County, WV down around Logan, WV.

Fort Frye will def be down from the back to back playoff yrs but I personally think this might be the worst schedule ever. Belpre (5-5), @ Van (3-7), Waterford (2-8), Con Valley (1-8), Monroe Central, Frontier, @Trail, Caldwell, @ Shenandoah, @ Rosecrans(0-10)

The young classes continue to make history for Caldwell. After winning their first ever football playoff game in school history this past season, they follow it up by winning the OVAC championship in their class in baseball. Congrats to all those young players putting the heart and effort to represent this community.

If that renewal levy goes down (as expected) I look for any PVC with Beallsville on its schedule to be looking for a game. Think the plan's been to close the school should the continuing operating levy get voted down. Be a shame, but I've never seen a school district waste as much money as the Switzerland School district.

It's possible Beallsville High School closes regardless of the levy result, maybe before next school year.

I was told last week that there's already a selective 'lottery' going on for the best athletes going to Barnesville according to a parent from the Beallsville area.
Barnesville's getting so many kids that it'll only take the good athletes. Boy I'd like to know if that's true. I guess the rest of the kids go to MCHS, River, or perhaps Shadyside.

What the 2 or 3 good athletes left in the school? Not much is left that would have a significant impact any place else. Judging Barnesville recently I would say they could use the help. Lol

I've always said the parents have more animosity than the kids. Next year, and even 2 or 3 years down the road I would expect the parents to truck their kids all over the place to prove a point.

But as time moves on more and more kids will go to wherever the bus that stops at the end of the driveway takes them.

Obviously, the people of Monroe County have tunnel vision, with the tunnel being their own rectum. Son of a bitch. OK, let's approve a "Capital Improvement Levy Countywide" for the first time in over 40 years and build new schools. Everyone feels warm and fuzzy.

What???? :122246 :122246 :122246 :122246 :122246 You expect us to fund them and keep the lights on once they are built?

Shame on the BOE and administration for ever letting one dime of capital improvement money be spent on building a new school in a town (and school district) that did not have the financial means to support it. Some "leadership" (oh wow, imagine that) during the levy drive by the administration could have prevented such a STUPID spend. Brand new school. Open less than a year. NO MONEY TO RUN IT, SO WE CLOSE IT. And yes, I was screaming. Way to be great stewards of the taxpayer's dollar in the "Switzerland of Ohio" local school district. People should be fired at the very least. Can't see anything criminal (even though it feels like it) with this mess.

What a disservice to the kids in the school district!

I wholeheartedly agree SD on someone needs fired on that financial fiasco.

Be a shame to close it down, but with all the meth labs popping up in Monroe County the school being pegged as a future juvenile detention center would fit the bill.

What??? Back to the Future at BHS? Perception around the county in the late 70's and early 80's was that it was the juvenile detention center for the county........... :122246 :122246 :122246 :122245 :122245

Can't blame Frontier for leaving either. That's a lot of long bus trips.

It is getting closer to my favorite sport. Still think this is the year Caldwell beats Central. Fort Frye could surprise people. Eric Huck has built a good program. They are still going to be 2-3 TD underdogs vs Central and Caldwell. I still think they can win 6 or 7. The line will be real returning 6 guys that started a game last yr. RB core of Layton, Baker (Transfer), Rice , Carpenter will be good. Garrett Lockery brings a nice WR. They play a terrible schedule Van (WV), Rosecrans, Con Valley, Waterford , and Belpre non league. Belpre should be good but they are low on numbers.

It's Monroe's league to lose. But still won't be pushed this year. Espy, how do you think Caldwell will beat us?
