8th Grade Boys Basketball - Scores
Re: 8th Grade Boys Basketball - Scores
Waverly 8th over Lucasville. Didn't hear the score just that the Tigers won.
Re: 8th Grade Boys Basketball - Scores
I will tell you this there is not one boy on the West 8th grade team been held back. You just sound bitter because you held back your best athletes from last year and still couldnt beat us at football and now you couldnt beat us at basketball. It makes me sick to see all the excuses Northwest fans have when they lose. All over facebook saying the refs cheat their boys, sad the parents have to act that way. And now you want to come on here and make false accusations.Tower wrote:Yes, only two. They did not get a lot of playing time in this game. They are probably still younger than half the Waverly or West kids they played this year.luvbigcats wrote:Yes I know for sure 2 of them did.toast wrote:^^^
Sounds like it was a competitive game indeed. I'm wondering if some of the kids playing 8th for Northwest also played 8th for Northwest last year?

Yes, only two. They did not get a lot of playing time in this game. They are probably still younger than half the Waverly or West kids they played this year.[/quote]

Wow, you got defensive. I did not accuse West of anything. Felt to me like the 2 NW boys getting slammed. Yet, those two are not the oldest ones on the court. They are younger than some of the other NW players. I felt like you were making accusations against them. As far as getting beat by them, hey this is junior high, NW played all 14 kids on their roster throughout entire game. If you want to come on here and belittle teenagers then go ahead and puff your chest out.

I wasn't being defensive and I wasn't saying anything about teenage boys. My comments were about the parents (this classes parents). Maybe you should read the whole post instead of just assuming what is said. No one was slamming the Northwest boys. Tower asked if they had boys that played on the 8th grade last year and bigcats said he knew of 2 that did. I dont see how that was bashing.

Northwest 52
Minford 30
Northwest with 12 boys in the scoring column.
Minford 7 kids in scoring column. Minford has nice point guard in Craft.
Northwest with 10 fouls and Minford 9 fouls entire game. Very clean well played game by both teams. I don't recall any one and one free throws in game.

We wasn't making any excuses when we put the wood to your varsity boys b-ball team the other night. You guys owe a lot of your wins in football thru the years to northwest boys who transferred over their if I recall. Heck, I know of a board member over here who has approached some of our best football athletes trying to talk them into going to West. There's proof too that might end up in the hands of OHSAA one of these days.Tower wrote:luvbigcats wrote:I will tell you this there is not one boy on the West 8th grade team been held back. That has to be one of the dumbest things I have ever heard . 5 points is putting the wood to. I know that a win over West is like winning the superbowl for the Mohawks. I know for some reason Northwest is so jealous of West they teach their kids to hate West. Which is hilarious. As for transfers 95% of the transfers go to Valley.
Re: 8th Grade Boys Basketball - Scores
What does a varsity basketball game have to do with your 8th grade having kids held back. Go ahead and go to the OHSAA it would be real funny when northwest 8th grade has to forfeit there entire season this year for breaking rules this summer. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones pal.philbilly wrote:We wasn't making any excuses when we put the wood to your varsity boys b-ball team the other night. OHSAA rule states only 2 players on a interscholastic team can play on a non-interscholastic team. By a over zealous parent playing almost the entire team in 2 summer leagues, that is a violation. So don't come on here talking about rules violations unless u are ready to have ur dirty laundry aired.

FYI - The 2 player limit doesn't apply between June 1 and July 31. (4.22)noles_fan wrote:OHSAA rule states only 2 players on a interscholastic team can play on a non-interscholastic team. FYI - (4.1) Shall not participate in a non-interscholastic program (tryouts, practice or contest). Practices started in March 3 months before the June 1 rule.Tri-StateYouthSports wrote:FYI - The 2 player limit doesn't apply between June 1 and July 31. Both Coal Grove 7th and 8th defeated Minford Thursday night. Both Coal Grove teams improved their records to 5-1.
