This game should be a dandy. NY returning a lot of players from last year and Waverly is struggling a bit on defense. Freshman corner has been picked on quite a bit so far and the pass defense has been suspect at best as a whole. Going to go with NY at 1-2 scores.

This will tell a lot about both teams.
Waverly, I think might be a slight favorite.
I think that the Tigers have played a more difficult schedule and that should help them prepare, for a good Nelsonville-York squad.

Re: Waverly (4-0) @ Nelsonville-York (4-0)
This game is hard for me to judge.
Waverly is a pretty darn good football team. They have a solid offense and they aren't to bad on defense.
Nelsonville-Yorks line has finally started to gel and the offense has gotten hot.
We can and will run the ball if Waverly takes away the pass. Maiden has proven he is a darn good QB and can throw the ball well. We have 6 guys with good hands so if we can throw we will let it fly.
Our coaching staff are able to correct things week to week and our kids work hard at correcting things when needed.
We had entirety to many penalties against River Valley. 13 I believe......
A couple of those were questionable but even if you take 3 away, we still committed way to many.
In my opinion, if we get 7 or 8 flags against the Tigers, we may end up in a hole we can't climb out of.
Waverly fans will tell you they are the favorites in this one and likewise for the Buckeye faithful.
The one thing I do know is that our boys love being the underdog. They love going out and proving themselves week in and week out.
A lot of people didn't think the Buckeyes would be very good this year. I knew what we had coming back and spent the off-season laughing quietly at the folks who said we wouldn't be able to compete for a league title this year.
Coach Richards and his staff do an amazing job of preparing our young men each week. From the game plan to on the fly adjustments, they always keep our kids in a position to succeed.
The Buckeyes will be ready this Friday night. They will come out and play every snap like it's their last snap. Our coaches will work their butts off for our boys.
Waverly will show up ready to play. They will strap up and give us everything they have.
I expect one heck of a game this Friday night. Come on out to Boston Field and watch a great game........

I don't think anyone from Waverly will tell you we are the favorite. Both teams are undefeated and the Tigers have to travel a couple hours to play at your place.Orange and Brown wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2017 6:06 pm

I remember we scrimmaged you last year at it was pretty even.
Tigers know they will have their hands full, will be the best team we have played yet.

Waverly should be the favorite. D4 vs. D6 with a tougher schedule. Waverly will be the best team NY faces in the regular season.
Re: Waverly (4-0) @ Nelsonville-York (4-0)
I'm hoping for a waverly win since we play them. However, my gut is telling me that NY is going to win this track meet!! Should be a fun game to watch!!
