Tomcat fans won't like this but...
2013 Athens 42
2013 Trimble 28
This is one of the first match ups I did today when I thought about this idea

2008 Logan 31
2013 Trimble 14

BUT TO MAKE YOU HAPPY
2013 Trimble 28
2006 Nelsonville York 17
which correct me if I am wrong is the best N-Y team from 03-13
I would have to give it to the 2011 Buckeyes, and "Calpreps" Would agree
2011 NY 24 2013 Trimble 19

But yes, I would say 2008 Logan would be my vote. I know people hate to hear this but divisions are what they are for a reason. The best schools are going to be in higher divisions.

throw out any of the NY teams of the 2000's. How can you have them in this discussion when they can't get past the first round of the playoffs?????
Logan would probably be the best but just mentioning a small division 7 school Trimble with these great teams is a compliment.
I would still go with Trimble. They made it the farthest of any of the teams mentioned above. Plus maybe not the best team but I would say the one with the most heart of any others mentioned.

I don't think the 2011 NY team would beat the 2013 Tomcats. No team, including Shadyside, Berlin Center, Wahama or even Marion Local showed it could run successfully on Trimble ... The Buckeyes I-formation, run dominated offense I don't think would be able to either.

Who embarrassed themselves? Portsmouth West? Trimble?

I watched both runs and don't remember anything that stood out?

West would have never beat Portsmouth that year in decent conditions. And Logan in 2008 would kill this years Trimble team. It would be ugly. And I mean real ugly. Big difference in talent and schemes.

West and their own field behavior was an embarrassment. Trimble did nothing but carry themselves with class.

When they met early in the season, West was still running the shotgun, with Lens at WR. By the time they met in the playoffs, West had changed to a power run scheme and dominated from the first snap on in the Tank, saw it with my own eyes. PHS wouldn't have won the second game had it been played on Mars. There's no denying the playoff run West had by changing their scheme and adjusting their personnel. That wouldn't have anything to do with it would it?

What it had to do with Oaf was the 18 inches of water on the Hallowed Grounds.

You couldn't be more wrong but that's ok. Whether it's valid or not, you're still entitled to your opinion.

We both played on the same field, the best team won the game.
IMPO what happen in the first game was the boys though all they had to do was show up. That game did help us out, taught the boys they had to come ready to play.

The divisions are set up by enrollment it has nothing to do with how good a school is.

This has to be the most pitiful excuse I have ever heard. You play that game 10 times in 10 different conditions and West wins all 10. Portsmouth shouldve been glad the field was so muddy or the score wouldve been worse.

Probably true. The next week West beat Ursuline. Ursuline would have slaughtered Portsmouth.

I've heard this excuse for years. What was Portsmouth a spread team? No they were an I formation running team just like we were. Mud should have made no difference. And as was said, probably kept the score from being a lot worse.

I do not think that mud was the issue.  Standing water might have been. Listen..I could care less about Portsmouth. Or West. Just an observation.
