^if its Marion Local u can use size and speed reference. Trimble should beat Western if they like they did in the second half against Shadyside. Trimble isn't the biggest but they hit hard. That's why they will win

Paladin wrote:Western Reserve also played 5 teams that made the playoffs in two different divisions. They beat all 5. Opened with a come back win against long time playoff qualifier Cuyahoga Hts of suburban Cleveland. Well tested with a demanding schedule. Typical NEO team.
Don't go pulling that card again, it means nothing. Cuyahoga heights was not the team they have been in the past finishing (6-5) and losing in the opening round ... McDonald (7-4) was blown out 57-0 in week 11 ... Lowellville was crushed 49-0 by Danville in week 11 ... Wellsville was shutout 24-0 by St. Paul in the opening round ... and then the 5th team, Malvern, Western Reserve beat 20-12 ... yes, that is the same Malvern from region 25 that Caldwell beat in the first round!!!

Western Reserve did beat 5 playoff teams, but none of those playoffs teams even came close to sniffing the 2nd round. Western Reserve's week 11 game? Versus a (4-7) Trinity. You say 'battle tested, tough NEO team, tough region" ... yet, a 4-7 team makes the playoffs.

Once you get this far, the regular season begins to mean less and less ... its about your playoff run and who you have played and the 'Cats have played two pretty good teams in SCC and Shadyside. Those two contests have them more than prepared for Saturday.

If the tomkittens get behind in this game by 2 scores, they should junk the bone, wishbone is NOT a come for behind offence, trust me we ran it for 3 games during our senior year!

I think this will be a very close game that could go either way.

The winner has the honor of being the sacrificial lamb to Marion Local in the State Championship. Either way, its insanely impressive that any team makes it this far in the playoffs.

Paladin Wrote in Week 12: As expected, Athens has no D and Tri-Valley is imposing their will. I don't expect the 2nd half to get any better, especially with that weak OL & DL. Tri-Valley ruling the trenches

Paladin Wrote in Week 12: Just watch Prouty, the OT from TV. He'll be at Kent St. They plan to play him as a Center. You might learn something.

Paladin Wrote in Week 12: The bullpuppies are in trouble. Easy to pick them to win against another SEO team last week but they were struggling . This week ?

Paladin Wrote in Week 13: Shadyside is the pick. 28-20.

Go Trimble, represent your school and SEO, and let this guy who continually picks against anyone in SEO (except Logan) disappear for another week, like he did before. Nothing like crying "wolf" until it finally happens then telling everyone he said so.

From Jackson, and all of SEO we are claiming you this week as our own and wishing you the best in Week 14!

What cracks me up is how some people pound there chest and brag about how great NEO football is - and how bad SEO is.

isn't Steubenville Catholic Central and Shadyside considered NEO?

How many do they have to beat to garner respect I wonder.

Doesn't matter though, Paladin will just wait and see if Trimble losses either Saturday or in the championship game and say "I told you so."

That is really the most ridicules philosophy I have ever encountered on SEOPS. EVERY TEAM but one will lose eventually.

FINAL FOUR - WHAT AN ACCOMPLISHMENT!!!! WAY TO GO 'CATS.

I'm going to disagree with Paladin this week and pick the Tomcats.

I think Trimble's veterans and the "cagey" nature of the Tomcats get them over the hump against a younger Western Reserve team. Tomcats find a way to win in a close game by winning the battle up front.

Playing a MAC team in the state championship might be a different matter, but if you're playing the final weekend that is all you can ask for. Think it would be pretty awesome to see the Tomcats in Massillon on December 7th.

To answer the question, the East District is considered south by the state. Players from Steubenville and Shadyside area are picked for the South All Star team for the All Star game. The East also combines for combined East-SE district tournaments. I haven't picked this game yet.

I just supplied some info.
