My brother said he watched the highlights of the Hartley/Liberty Union game last night on Columbus TV and that he thought the Burg could beat them.

Should be a given, then, right?

Hartley ran something like 90 plays to liberty union's 30. I have followed liberty union all year. They are much better than last year. You remember what LU did to Burg last year, right?

I have not seen Wheelersburg since last year. But Hartley is good. I wouldn't underestimate them.

Wheelersburg's defense has had 6 consecutive shutout quarters in the playoffs. That is quite impressive! They will need that type of pressure and intensity to keep them in this game.

I know its a different sport but I remember a Burg basketball team back in 1995 not give a snowballs chance in hades of beating a loaded bishop hartley team and Burg mopped the floor with them. Columbus dispatch called the Burg players a bunch of country bumpkins that wouldn't be able to run with Hartley and they found out the hard way.


If Burg can keep moving the ball like they have been I look for it to be a shootout. Burg can win this game.

Gotta love the predictions. Let the doubters doubt. No one thought that valley would lose to newark catholic. We all know what happen there. No one thought that burg would beat ferry as bad as they did and look what happen. If burg plays the way they did against martins ferry then they can beat hartley.

Win or lose we are proud of our pirates and we are still playin for a regional title. This is the matchup that most predicted at the beginning of the season. I know this was one of the possible matchups projected by posters on the puddle as well as some sports writers

Unreal. You can't tell me there wasn't a better place to play this game. I hate this drive. Nothing wrong with the field or the venue, but the drive sucks. Especially this time of year when the deer are everywhere.

Im sure the coaches from Burg are looking very closely at the Coldwater/Hartley game. I watched it on TWC and I think Burg matches up really well, the only thought is we need alil more beef on the Dline. Coldwater had some bigger guys there and they were more physical than Burg. Warner is good, but we need 3 of him! If we don't, then we need unblockable beef!! I mean Greeno beef!!! LOL.
