Nice start for the young Fighting Tigers. Eastmoor was a big and athletic team, with no starter standing less than 6-3. Ironton's inexperience (60% of scoring from freshmen) will cause this year's squad to experience some hills and valleys over the course of the season, but it is always nice to beat last year's Southeast Regional Champion/Final Four participant, and the three returning starters it brought down from Columbus.
Ironton just needs to keep its head down and stay focused on getting better. If they do that, Coach Lafon and his staff can get them where they need to be come mid-February. The demanding OVC schedule combined with a treacherous out-of-conference slate will be the oven in which this cake of fresh ingredients gets baked. Let's hope it turns out well. Go Tigers!

Ironton will be ok in the OVC but Ports,Chesapeake, and Fairland will be tough to get around. Tiger freshmen players will just have to be patient and take their licks and keep improving.
