Sorry jagered, that is not possible. Nerk Catholic got their heads handed to them last night by Ready, so no silver lining for Valley.jagered wrote:The silver lining in both Valley and Burg is this, it is very possible they were beat by 2 teams who will win the State Championship.

Silver lining for us is 11-1 and a "TRIBEFECTA" in Undefeated regular seasons and SOC II Championships.. Nothing for Valley OR Burg to hang their heads about! Proud of ALL the boys!!Steely Dan wrote:Sorry jagered, that is not possible. Great Season Burg! Nothing to be ashamed of!
Re: D5-Region 17 Final: #1 Bishop Hartley vs #3 Wheelersburg
Big player in small games and a small player in Big games. Now that stats have been padded hopefully the burg will go back to playing a "real offense" next year! May is the man to "right the ship". Burg should go back to "TEAM" ball next year and not focus on one plAyer. Roundball time! Go Falcons!

I haven't said anything negative about either valley or burg and yeah they should be proud of what they accomplished, but a couple weeks ago a lot of valley posters were making it known how they couldn't wait to get a shot a Ready and all I said was Valley really don't want to face Ready, but I get it, ya have to be confident and believe but as we now know N Cath. had other ideas. You represented us well and more important than that you both did it with class and honestly I wouldn't have expected anything less from either. Ok St 14-0 over Baylor in 2nd quarter woohoo!!!! :122246 :122245 :122246 :122245

Absolutely, One has to be confident but I can promise you this... I was not one of those posters looking ahead to Ready. Newark Catholic had all we wanted and they made PLAYS. We just didn't. It was their night. Both Burg and Valley have done us all proud and I did NOT take your original comment as negative... Only responding with my own opinion.jagered wrote:I haven't said anything negative about either valley or burg and yeah they should be proud of what they accomplished, but a couple weeks ago a lot of valley posters were making it known how they couldn't wait to get a shot a Ready and all I said was Valley really don't want to face Ready, but I get it, ya have to be confident and believe but as we now know N Cath. had other ideas. Just back from the game can anyone explain a couple of questions
1-From the stands it appeared we recovered the ball on the opening kickoff onside kick- can someone clarify the call on the field
2- the mysterious fumble by us while we driving down the field when our player was down-was it a fumble
3.- Just stating a fact when you reach this level of play the officials should be the best out there to receive these games- maybe in Columbus you can hold onto receivers jerseys all night butman pulling on Dylan Millers jersey to hold him back from making plays in FRONT of the line judges come on that happened all night long

Re: D5-Region 17 Final: #1 Bishop Hartley vs #3 Wheelersburg
and please dont take the post as whining- Hartley is very good but a couple of key plays and we are in the game
Re: D5-Region 17 Final: #1 Bishop Hartley vs #3 Wheelersburg
Yeah the officials were a little off page from each other but Burg could not stop Hartley at all. The Hawks couldn't stop the Pirates either. Unfortunately, the Burg stopped themselves on three turnovers. If Burg doesn't make those mistakes, along with the xp difficulties, Burg could have made it a bit closer and had a chance to stay in it.
My biggest gripe is the Private vs Public. Open enrollment has leveled this playing field slightly but the OHSAA needs to evaluate this. Walking up on the Hartley team up close when I was leaving, I noticed how big and athletic those guys looked. I believe a lot are recruited solely for foot ball. Don't believe, just look at their home page.

Specifically this page as well.
