Re: Week 12: #2 Bishop Ready v. #6 Monroe Central
Monroe Central will play hard and fight the entire game, however, I expect Ready's size and numbers to wear out the Noles through attrition. This is the smallest number of players on Monroe Central's roster in years, and that is going to be a problem in this game. I don't expect this to be a pushover, but eventually, the kids are probably just going to run out of gas.
Venue - Well, that is going to be interesting. You can never guess where OHSAA is going to "stick you" (or stick it to you
). Since they seem to prefer all 2nd round games and further be played on turf, that limits the locations. With Zanesville and Athens playing next Friday night, that takes two locations out. I've seen Sheridan mentioned, that might be a good spot, but still much shorter travel for Ready versus MC. However, it would still be at least an hour shorter drive for the Nole's faithful, versus what they had to drive for round one....... Regardless, Monroe Central will bring a huge crowd, and they are loud. Best of luck to both teams.

Crooksville is too hard to get to, plus they have a grass field. Philo or Maysville would both be good locations with great facilities. I would not be surprised to see the game played at Maysville, if they put in for playoff games.

Well, Maysville and Philo are both out of the picture as their teams are still playing. I have a feeling that they are going to stick this game off somewhere where neither team is going to be happy with the travel. Just going to have to wait and see.

I agree. It's not going to be somewhere close off the freeway.

Looks like it's Zanesville Sulsberger Stadium. About the best we could have hoped for.

For what its worth, I watched the Burg/Ready scrimmage. And looked at some film of Ready games this year. They are still vulnerable to the pass. They run a good game. But, if you can mix it up on them, you can move the ball. I didn't think they were that big on the O and D line. They just execute well. They exploited Burg in the scrimmage by running outside on options and Qb keepers. And they did it a lot. Like they wanted to make a statement. Well, they did. Don't expect that during this game obviously, they want their TB to get the ball a lot. I think he is #24. Smith?. He doesn't look big but he will run over you! Got to tackle him by the ankles!! Practice that all week!!!! Good luck MC!

Agreed. If Ready is vulnerable anywhere it is through the air. Hartley tried to implement their run game against us and Readys D never broke. The issue is keeping up with Ready scoring wise. Ready can put up some points with multiple offensive weapons. Asking for a flawless passing game to match Ready's horses is a tall order. I'm excited for this game but I see Ready winning this one by a similar margin as last week.

Ready did not have their QB in for most of the scrimmage with Burg, and neither did the Pirates. I watched Ready play Oaks, hard to say but I was impressed with a receiver number 15. I think they have improved over time, the passing game.

Prediction time. This one won't be close. Hope Jay enjoys his upcoming retirement, but Ready wins .
