From game film ive seen. TV plays a 3 man front against the spread. That plays right into Athens offense I think this game is going to better than what most think. Will be up to the Athens D to stop TV. Go Bulldogs

TV has a dominant offensive line, the big tackle committed to Kent State last summer. That is their strength. They replaced all of their skill kids from what was the best class in school history last year. It took them a little while to get rolling and get over some suspensions and such but they have it going now. Their qb is a dual threat who can run and pass. Tailbacks Daniel Scott and Logan Bash are a great combo as well. Scott is big and powerful and shifty. Bash is a burner who doesn't need much of a crease to go to the house, he is also a great kick returner. Athens will not run the football against this defense but their weakness all year has been pass coverage. Athens will score points, the only other qb of this caliber TV has seen was Wibbler from Zanesville, I believe the Devils had a better receiving corps though. The question will be if Athens can stop the TV running game. The if TV can control the clock and keep Burrow off the field they win. If Burrow protects the ball and makes his usual big plays Athens could outscore them. If this game isn't played in the high 40's to 60's I don't feel like Athens wins. If it's a shoot out they have a great chance. Even if they play in a poor league this is a really terrific group of athletes and their qb is as good as anyone anywhere in Ohio. Wish I could go watch. Hope TV gets the win.

Athens in the tvc is no different than Logan in the seoal. Big fish little pond. Only difference is Athens is still playing cause they are a great team and they will be useing Logans field because they nor any other seoal team wont be needing itmoonshine wrote:Oh how true, the bullpuppies schedule was loaded with weak competition!panthers2013 wrote:From top to bottom TV playes in a better league.Ill tkae the MVL in a close one. Athens could very well lose this game - but fans up in Logan will walk away impressed with tailback Trae Williams. He is the most underrated athlete in the region, IMO.newlex/sheridan wrote:Athens will not run the football against this defense but their weakness all year has been pass coverage.
Re: Week 12 Region 9: #1 Athens vs. #4 Tri-Valley
Athens is in the playoffs no matter how it goes they have accomplished a lot in the last four years. There are a lot of posts I see on here of ppl upset cause there school isn't in the same position. I call them sideline coaches, always talking what should be and who could be. Face the fact that Athens has A great team and about five or six D1 prospects. Talent is talent , I see ppl talk about Burrow and Trae for what they are or aren't And I can bet you you put them on these other so called powerhouse teams and the numbers put up could be even scarier. Give them a break and quit being upset cause you team is no longer playing, you may or may not have your turn at the top in a couple years and when and if you do bet ppl will start to say the same thing you guys are downing Athens for.

The only way he is underrated is if he could step on an NFL team and start right now. Cause all we read and hear is how he is a D1 prospect, and someone said he is the second best rated back in Ohio, and he may be the best IMHO. He is good, and I don't see how anyone thinks he is underrated.93Bulldog wrote:Athens could very well lose this game - but fans up in Logan will walk away impressed with tailback Trae Williams. Not from people in SEO. They have seen him play.
I talk to other people outside of our immediate area who don't even know the kids name.
That is what I am referring too Ground Buck.

Re: Week 12 Region 9: #1 Athens vs. #4 Tri-Valley
Tri Valley is easily the toughest team Athens has faced all year. Both major computer ranking systems have the Scotties ranked much higher than the Bulldogs. TV is ranked 50th and 51st overall in the whole state which is pretty darn good for a D3 school. The Scotties are and should be the favorite to win as much as some of the Bulldog fans don't want to believe it. TV is very balanced like Athens but as has been stated has faced better overall competition. If Athens is to win this game (which I think they can) they will need to play their best game to date. The special teams units for Athens have been less than stellar all season long and are often the difference in games between good teams so they must concentrate on staying in their kick coverage lanes and avoid big returns. The Athens defense has been a bit soft all season playing the bend but not break style all season but this time of year teams are too good and will score if we keep gambling with the blitz on nearly every play. The defense also needs to focus on wrapping up this week, last week may have been the worst tackling performance of the season with way too many attempts at arm tackling. Some of this is correctable in the film room and on the practice field but some of it can't be fixed until the off season and that may just be to late.

Well said A-town. I appreciate a realistic post on this game. I agree with your thoughts.

That is correct a-town. Game comes down to if Athens can stop the run and if TV can stop the pass. This will be best team Athens has faced. Athens needed a game like Logan elm to wake them up. I don't see either team stopping the other. Defense that creates turnovers will win
this game reminds me of Springfield Shawnee last year in week 12. Lost QB after state runner up but still had all their size and rb. Way bigger than Athens. Athens won 36 to 35. I see this game being that good

I have no clue what Locos and being from Logan has to do with Locos coming on here and giving his two cents about the Athens/Tri-Valley. Locos knows football, and if he said Tri-Valley would wipe the floor with Athens then he would be making an educated guess. Because that is what a prediction is.seoconstruction wrote:I hate reading post from ppl who think they know football but they really don't ...
Locos would love to get on here and give his two cents and say Athens will lose but he has too much "Logan in him" to do so ..
Athens is soooo overrated it's stupid, you're just a newer Logan , you beat up on the smaller schools then never accomplish anything in the end ...
You guys just love those regular season "great seasons" Bc that what's keep you posters "happy"
Again, would love to understand how any (11-0) team could ever be considered over-rated. The core of this team is (22-2) over the past two seasons...far from over-rated. Winning three play-off games over the past 2 seasons is not over-rated by any means.
Not sure why you feel the need to take a crack at Logan when this topic is Athens/Tri-Valley but I'll bite...each year when 'High School' athletes compete they compete for two seasons within a season. Regular Season and if they are lucky then Post Season. Only 1 school in Each Division will have a Great Season by your standards. Logan was the premier football school when I was in High School. They have won several league titles and have won some Play-Off games. Any time your last game is a Play-Off game then you are doing something right...how many schools in the state still have yet to play in their first Play-Off game?
Lastly, no AD or Coach gives a hoot about Message Boards or keeping so yea-hoo happy. Come back to reality my friend. "Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it!"

Re: Week 12 Region 9: #1 Athens vs. #4 Tri-Valley
Absurd comments. That's what this thread is about. Athens has 5-6 D-I players on the team ? Really ? I've watched film on Athens. They have ONE legtimate player -- Burrows. Name the other D-I college players please. And before you name your RB, uh, no he isn't. Many of you are clueless as to what a D-I player looks & plays like. The college coaches don't miss finding them. Watch Prouty, the OT for TV. He has already verbaled to Kent St. to play center May give you some idea what a player should be other than a playmaker like Burrows. Year after year, dominate ( for SEO ) teams come and go with none or maybe one D-I player on it, but its often a player that goes D-II or III. And then we get to read the clueless chatting about how the player was "missed" in recruiting because he was from SEO. If you are D-I, they find you. If you are "hyped" to be a D-I. you are looked at. But then the offers don't come. KNow why ?
Because clowns on a message board promoting players as D-I prospects don't carry any weight with coaches who do evaluations all the time and see players from all over the U.S.
Now who are those D-I players for Athens and what position do they play so everyone can see the "stars" ?

For once you are close to being correct my friend! If Tri-Valley runs the bullet game on defense and can defend the pass then this will be a 3-6 point game either way!
Re: Week 12 Region 9: #1 Athens vs. #4 Tri-Valley
Paladin, check out how many D-1 schools there are in college football please. It seems that you are thinking of the Alabamas and the FSU there are more than that and those programs are looking for kids like that. And be careful as to who you say doesn't know what D-1 players look like as you don't know me and I as well don't know you. Burrow is a D-1 As well as Trae Williams, Luerhman is one raw but one, the the Wiseman kid can be one and is only a sophmore. Ok you got me there are four. And last I checked every MAC school is D-1. And you don't know what i know with that being said may the best team win.

None of the players can commit because they are all junior's and soph's.
Seeing as most people in Athens live within minutes of Pedan Stadium - my guess is they know exactly what a D1 player looks like.
Burrow and Williams are guaranteed D1 football players. Other than that, we'll have to wait and see how the other young pups develop over the next year.

Thanks, Falcon. You just confirmed what I already know -- Athens has ONE D-I player. Of course your other players are free to walk-on anywhere they want ! 5-6 D-I players ? Hey, why not 35 ?
