Re: SOC 2
We shouldn't be worried about the coaching we are getting. These two coaches have so much fire and desire that they just want to see our girl's execute, play hard and play as a team. Why as parents do we point fingers at a coach for loses that actually our kids are just as responsible for? We parents should be worrying about why our kids aren't performing to the best of their abilities. All players on this team need to play as a TEAM and the wins will come. There are 2 ends of the court, the defensive end where games are won and lost. Until ALL of our team plays on that end first we will continue to struggle. When I look at the other teams in the SOC, we are just as talented as many of them, but talent will only get you so far. We have if not the best player, one of the best players in the SOC. Our players need to learn their roles and do whatever it takes to win the game. If it means taking less shots, running the point and getting us into our offense, rebounding, being the shut down defender, etc...I don't care if you are a senior, junior, sophomore or freshman if that player is open then throw them the ball. There is to much selfish ball being played and that is a major problem on this ball club. The coach can only do so much to stop this. I have seen her play 100 different combinations and until ALL our players/daughters believe in each other and lay it all out there on a line, we will continue to struggle. I just want to see these girls along with my daughter to get better. I don't care if my daughter plays 1-2-3-4 quarters. I just want to see this TEAM play as a TEAM.

A few observations about west's coaches after tonight's game versus waverly. First off they have the girls playing hard. They out hustled and out worked waverly all night. The JV Coach has some temper issues but is young. The varsity coach had to yell at her a couple of times to be quiet. The only problem I saw was when one of the west girls recieved a technical. When the coach took the player out of the game the girl was not corrected. All of the bench players high fives her and the girl who received the technical was joking and laughing with the JV Coach. That needs addressed differently. I think they are just young. They are certainly passionate about the game. Nothing wrong with that.
