Coach Young Classic- November 30, 2013 @ North Adams HS

I have posted about this on a couple of threads, but I thought it was worth making a thread for itself.

On November 30, 2013, North Adams HS will be hosting the first Coach Young Classic. This goal of this classic is to honor the life and career of the late Coach Dave Young, who spent 24 years at the head man at North Adams. We believe that the best way to honor him was to bring in some of elite programs in Southeast Ohio to North Adams for a day of high school basketball. Admission will be $8.00, with hand stamps available so you can come and go. Proceeds will go to help support the Young Memorial Scholarships. We hope to make this classic one of the ones people put on their calendar every year to attend. Next season, it will move to Martin Luther King weekend in January where we hope to keep for years to come.

Due to Wheelersburg advancing through the football playoffs, they made the decision to not attend the Coach Young Classic this year. In their place, Peebles will play Gamble Montessori from Cincinnati.

This looks like a great day of basketball! I might have to make a trip to Adams Co. If "Pfloyd" is going to be there, the entire event will get first class coverage.

I'm impressed by Hinkle for the dragons. Could be the X factor this year for West Union.

Final: West Union 67 -Whiteoak 42. Hinkle led the dragons with 12pts and a good number of rebounds and Jason Jones led Whiteoak with 13pts.

Peebles 44 - Gamble 25 at the half. Gamble is not very good and Peebles isn't looking that hot either at this point. The Indians started playing a little better near the end of the second quarter. My phone is about to die so I might not be able to post any score updates from here on out.
