Northwest Mohawks @ Waverly Tigers
Final SOC-II contest for the Mohawks as they move to the SOC-I in 2014. Loser stands alone in the SOC-II basement, the winner perhaps has something to build on for next season. May not be a "big game" for either of these two programs but it will be for the Seniors from both squads, as it will be their last time putting on the pads. Here is hoping it is an injury free game for both teams!

I will take Waverly in this contest. I think Waverly will be a much better team next year. They have some good talent on their ball team and a young coach driving them.

I agree. Waverly will be too much for NW on both sides of the ball. Hopefully NW will schedule down next year as they enter SOC-I play. NW has to start winning so the kids (and their parents) coming up will hopefully want to stay and play their high school football there instead of Valley, Notre Dame or West. Must stop the "bleeding" to have any hope of building the Mohawk program up to a respectable level.
Re: Northwest Mohawks @ Waverly Tigers
Waverly with very winnable games the past two weeks with West (27-22) and Minford (14-6). Waverly held the Falcons to 14 points, no other team has held them under 28. The Tigers with way too many injuries this year to win games but have been in all but 3 and would more than likely be 6-3 right now with a full compliment of players. I read in the NewsWatchman out of 12 seniors on the roster only 5 are dressing now and that's just the seniors. Waverly's top target to throw to, Mason Chapman (sophomore) has been out as well.
I look for the Tigers to play with a tremendous amount of passion and win going away. The front 7 need to shut down the run and win the field position battle. Send the Seniors out with a win.

Hope for a good, clean end to the season for these two teams. Hopefully both programs walk away from this one with plenty to build on in the off season. Good luck and stay injury free!

Congrats to the Waverly program on the win. If the folks at NW schedule "smart" the Mohawks have a good shot at a .500 season next year. Gotta learn to walk before you can run!
Re: Northwest Mohawks @ Waverly Tigers
Kind of ironic that Northwest is leaving the SOC2…."now". Over the next four years they would not only be competitive in the SOC2, they would be winning their share of games. Their 8th grade and freshman class are both solid. Of well, best of luck. I can see them posting a winning record without a doubt.
Waverly will also be back in the mix next year. They too have a solid freshman class and several 8th graders that will be good football players. Several good sophomores from this years team also. Next year should be fun.

The Tigers just had way too many injuries to be competitive against Burg and Valley. Had chances to beat Minford and West as well as Court House and Coal Grove. Will be fun to see how it plays out next year. Losing some good seniors but there are a ton of young guns.
Re: Northwest Mohawks @ Waverly Tigers
Congrats to Coach Crabtree and the Tigers. This is definitely something positive to build off of and use as a building block for next year. Give Coach Crabtree a few years and he will have the program back on it's feet.
