Didn't see that one coming.Vladimir wrote:Yes, Howard is correct, but I thought he went to WR not TE.... Piquet was a Soph last year and played soccer this year which really hurt Minford football. He's probably one of the fastest kids in all of So. Ohio, and that's the team speed Minford is lacking. Hope he decides to come back to the gridiron for his Sr. year.

Not sure. I was talking to a friend from Minford about this upcoming season and he made mention of it. I don't know who the kid is but I remember him getting carries last year.

Are we gonna see any pictures posted on here from the Reservation this week????
Re: Valley (9-0) @ Minford (7-2)
Regardless of what offense formation the Falcons go with we have to win the line of scrimmage. We have not won the line of scrimmage in SOC play. That will be the key factor Friday on offense and defense.
Re: Valley (9-0) @ Minford (7-2)
He got plenty of carries on offense, in fact scored the only TD against burg last year, and started on defense as DB/SS. He just decided this year he wanted to go out for soccer after playing football since he was in the 8th grade. That's what we have to put up with at Minford, as if you are any kind of an athlete anywhere else you play football. Great kid though, just wish we could have him back on the football field.NewEra wrote:Why didn't Piquet play!?Bo_Diaz wrote:I think Howard is the player Jesco is referring to. Piguet is also a player that saw plenty of minutes for the Falcons that isn't playing this year.
Minford could be a very tough matchup for the Indians, but I don't think there is any doubt that Valley is the more talented team. They are faster and more athletic, both in the secondary and up front. That being said, the Falcons can and I'm sure will give the Indians a tough game. I just can't help but see the issues that Minford had with Burg and West being issues again this week. Valley throws the ball well, Valley runs the ball well. Valley has shut down all running teams like Coal Grove and West. Valley has shut down the passing attack of Wheelersburg. These things don't bode well for the Falcons, especially after seeing the score of their Waverly game. If the Indians don't come out flat (no reason to think Coach Crabtree will let that happen) then I don't believe the Falcons will be able to score enough to stay with the Indians.
I'm going with Valley as 28-7 winners

I don't know what exactly to think about your statement. You act as if a kids sports career is somehow a commodity of the community instead of "his". So what difference does it make what sport he plays? Props to him for following his heart! I see you edited your post, maybe after thinking about you feel as I do. Not judging.Vladimir wrote:He got plenty of carries on offense, in fact scored the only TD against burg last year, and started on defense as DB/SS. Thanks for recognizing last year team Chicken_ Coop....that is something that many Minford faithful seem to forget...last years team ended the season with 8 seniors with all but 1 or 2 had playing positions on the field.....I think they lost a lot more than what people seem to think.....you have to play as a team, and the seniors need to lead as a team....not an I or me!!!!!!!!!!! Last years team had something to prove, because no one thought that they could win more than 4 games.....they also played with heart....
now for this game.....its going to be a fight......Good luck to Minford

Re: Valley (9-0) @ Minford (7-2)
Valley is the typical smash mouth southern ohio football team with studs all over the field on both sides of the ball. I f the Arnett kid gets his 25 carries and they can throw it when they have to, and are very capable of just flat out owning both sides of the line. Minford will be lucky to stay within 30 of them just for the simple fact sometimes the other team is flat out better this year. Minford line physically does match up better with them than burg but Minfords offense is stagnant and so easy to stop with good technique and sound discipline. Valley 38-6, just a guess. :122245 :122246 And with these 2 styles of play the game starts at 7:30 and will be finished by 9.

@Minfordmamma: No one forgets their contribution, just not remembering names. One thing you mentioned is "playing with heart," and that's something this 2013 falcon team has still yet to prove. We saw a glimpse of it at Oak Hill, but not really since. So, that's a good challenge for this team, and lets see if they have it in them.

Re: Valley (9-0) @ Minford (7-2)
I just cant see minford making this much of a game at all...getting beat by west and Burg and then struggling with waverly. I can understand burg but to play with Valley....? They way Valley totally dominated west in every way a team could and did the same to waverly and then beat burg...There would have to be a minford team that we have not seen all year step onto the field Friday to compete with Valley

I'm new to this area and Minford, and if Vladimir is a past , present or future coach then I should have chosen a different area to send my kids. Cause with his attitude and degrading of kids that's not someone I would want around the peewee program. I know this is a football forum but wow. Or maybe he is one of those people who thought he could play football and now he knows how to coach Valley is a good team but I'm going with Minford .

What area did you move here from? I was originally going to welcome you to the site, but noticed you've been a member since '05, so I guess the welcome goes without saying 8)patro3410 wrote:I'm new to this area and Minford, and if Vladimir is a past , present or future coach then I should have chosen a different area to send my kids. Anyway, my oldest son is an 8th grader at Minford (not easy for a Valley guy lol). What grade are your kids in?
Re: Valley (9-0) @ Minford (7-2)
@Patro3410: First of all, I did not degrade any kid, so don't put words where they are not. NewEra asked a question of why someone choose soccer over football, that would have started on both side of the ball, and the question was honestly answered. If you do not like my attitude that's your personal choice. You are more than welcome to PM me so we can talk about it more if you wish.patro3410 wrote:I'm new to this area and Minford, and if Vladimir is a past , present or future coach then I should have chosen a different area to send my kids.
