I don't want to just come out and say his name but it's not that hard to figure out his dad is pretty open about not liking the offense and the player hates it I went to several games with them and even tho his son starts and is a big part of that 8th grade team all he did was put that offense down

When ran the correct way, with the 3-step motion on every play. The WingT bar none is the most successful offense at the HS level because of its deception, blocking schemes, and misdirection. Most HS kids cannot read their keys fast enough and by the time they realize who has the ball it's already by them.
Re: Valley (9-0) @ Minford (7-2)
I know exactly who you are talking about and it's funny cause all I ever hear from the boy is how much he loves Minford and it's also funny cause I know his dad and he has no say in where the boy gets to go to school his grandma has more say then he does. Why would he leave when he will be starting as a sophomore over here and go to a school that hasn't won a game in his grade in 4 years. And btw his dad is an absolute idiot at the games.
Re: Valley (9-0) @ Minford (7-2)
@Patro3410, stick to peewee football. And Valley may have a good team, but I was at the Burg and Valley game and if Burg wouldn't have shot their selves in the foot a couple of times they would have won. To my understanding Valley has not lost a game in awhile which means they are going to come in over confident making to many mistakes.
Come in overconfident? Just like they did last week, and the week before that? You honestly think they will overlook outright SOC championship and the chance to go 10-0 for the 3rd straight year?
I'll say this now, Valley will be focused, ready and it will show Friday.

Lol yeah I'll agree his dad is a idiot at the games. I watched the valley burg game with the boy well most of it anyways and he said he likes the school but does not want to play football for the high school. He is also considering burg but his mom don't want him at burg I guess. I don't think minfords offense is best for the kid. He knows at valley he would not start till his junior year but thinks he might earlier at a different position. His dad knows coach Rolfe at valley I guess and was told he would see the field pretty early.

Are You serious? Valley made twice as many mistakes as Burg. If you are referring to the fumble at the end or the overthrown passes. Those were caused by the Valley defensepatro3410 wrote:Yes, I am a new member of this forum and area. Everybody has opinion which is fine and to answer your question My kids are peewee football players.
As a new person to the area looking at new era would be running the spread offense a little more and read option. Going out of the spread does not mean you have to launch the ball every time , mix it up a little bit, ground and pound does not always work. As big and tough as Minford O-line is do something a little different. When you have the opposing teams defense lining up in the box 90% of the time the offensive coordinator should be smart enough to go to the spread. I mean 2 run plays in a row and your backs get tackled for negative yardage and then you pass on 3rd down, umm what coach doesn't know that play is coming and if a good coach has watched enough film they know what route the receiver is running and its a picked off pass.. just hoping for a little change in the "new era".

@Falconfan09 you have to be close to the program to be so defensive. I was there when a coach walked by and advised this parent to shut the $^%$% up but the dad stepped up and confronted the coach. Your on here dogging the QB but this 8th grade parent can't voice his opinion.
Re: Valley (9-0) @ Minford (7-2)
Well the kid goes 17-1 in his Jr. high career running the WingT, and gets to play on both sides of the ball the whole game and his Dad is unhappy. So the kid says he doesn't like the offense either? Have you ever thought the kid is just repeating what he hears from his Dad? I seriously doubt the kid is unhappy going 17-1 in two years and playing almost every down, I think he's just looking for affection from his Dad.izladoom wrote:Falconfan09 wrote:I know exactly who you are talking about and it's funny cause all I ever hear from the boy is how much he loves Minford and it's also funny cause I know his dad and he has no say in where the boy gets to go to school his grandma has more say then he does. The kid said he wants to play in the spread so I don't know but he wants to play football past high school
Re: Valley (9-0) @ Minford (7-2)
He's in 8th grade he doesn't know the difference between the Spread offense and Shedds spread, are you for real?? As far as playing after HS, doesn't every kid who's ever played the game? I think you're just trying to get something stirred up here.
Re: Valley (9-0) @ Minford (7-2)
No people was talking about how they don't like the wing t and I just was pointing out they was not the only onesVladimir wrote:He's in 8th grade he doesn't know the difference between the Spread offense and Shedds spread, are you for real?? Re: Valley (9-0) @ Minford (7-2)
Where did I dog the boy I didn't say one bad word about him. And his dad was told to shut up because he was cussing the players and the coaches for not giving him the ball enough. Soo if that's how you voice your opinion I feel sorry for you. And I get defensive cause I know what his dad says to him after games if he doesn't "play good" in his eyes.B0UNCE wrote:@Falconfan09 you have to be close to the program to be so defensive. If you're referring to me saying our high school quarterback isn't a spread quarterback he isn't anybody with football knowledge can see that. I wouldn't consider that dogging someone.

So what you're telling me, their kids go 17-1 and they don't like it? I'd hate to hear what they'd say if their kids went 1-17. If what you're saying is remotely true, then it's just stupidity. I realized a long time ago, you can't fix stupid, so don't even bother with people like that!

Re: Valley (9-0) @ Minford (7-2)
Well if I recall some 7 or 8 yrs ago several young Minford JH youth left to go to Burg, Valley & PHS. Turns out maybe they made the "CORRECT CALL" or probably knew something about Football & Basketball. Seems like if I recall one helped lead Burg to several Great seasons on the hardwood, Then one was very instrumental in securing Valley Football SOC2 BACK TO BACK UNDEFEATED SEASONS. Then you had a couple return to Minford............WHAT HAPPENED?????? :122246Falconfan09 wrote:Well those parents also probably don't know anything about football. Falconfan09 please advise your reasoning of the spread QB of Minford because I thought I knew a little about the game and I think he can run the spread. But I'm always eager to learn so please school me.
And both were wrong and unprofessional as a Parent and Asst. coach parent for there actions and the law had to be called to a jr. high game.

Re: Valley (9-0) @ Minford (7-2)
Bounce I say he's not a Spread QB because he has trouble throwing the ball and what does a spread QB have to do
