Week 10 (4-5) Wellston @ (4-5) Vinton County

I was looking over the standings in region 17 and wellston can still make the playoffs if they win and 7 teams ahead of them loose. After looking at those 7 teams games tonight...I could see that happening honestly. So Wellston is also playing for a slim chance for a playoff berth as well.

All the credit in the world to the Vikings tonights. Wellston had 4 or 5 turnovers and VC took advantage. I think this is a start of a great rivalry once again. This game looked like a Wellston/VC game back in the 90's. This outcome makes a 3 way tie for 3rd in the TVC if I'm correct. Again, V.C. deserved the win,.. not sure if they were the better team? But VC capitalized on Wellston's mistakes and that made them the better team tonight. Wellston,.. great season to the few seniors. The rest of the team is made up of freshman and sophomores, so lets rebuild and get ready in the offseason!!

I was told that it is in the works to annex Hamden and Dundas into the Wellston City School system . This would help Vinton become smaller in size and allow them to drop in the divisions . Most kids from Hamden and Dundas would prefer to go to Wellston anyways . Since they show favoritism to the Mcarthur kids in Vinton .

It would also raise the IQ levels of both places.

No it doesn't. We are to predictable on offense, we gamble to much on defense, can't defend the pass, and if you stop and listen you here the faint sound of thuds of a basketball being dribble, the cans of butt-whoopins will be open up soon.

Wellston's varsity is made up of mostly sophomores and freshman, and I know the Vikes are a young team also. I don't see this being a lop sided rivalry in the future where long winning streaks will occur. I look forward to watching games like last night between the two where it can go either way and I believe that's what were going to get.

I agree. It will be that way between wellston, NY, VC, Alex and Meigs over the next couple years.

Louie and Dundas are definitely correct. I got to say Congrats to th TVC Ohio as a whole. Athens was for sure better than everyone in SE Ohio but the other 5 teams had some very competitive games. Meigs was very strong and probably the most improved team and Alex was in a lot of games. They are going to be tough to deal with again. Cudos to the programs throughout the TVC Ohio. And I cant wait till next year. I think our conference gets stronger and more competitive in the very near future.
