I remember those boys especially the one that played against Portsmouth in the playoffs. Didn't that one play for Wake Forest?

I'm assuming you're thinking of Ben Mauke, who played against West in the State Championship game in '02, then went on to start at Wake Forest before finishing his career as a starter for Cincinnati. Could that be the Mauke brother you're thinking of?

It is Ben Mauk and he did play against West in that title game.

Ben was the offensive coordinator at Western Brown last season, but I believe he is now back at Kenton working for his dad.

I always forget that there isn't an 'e' at the end of their name.

I think that Kenton has a good shot at winning the state again this year. I feel a little bit sorry for the young man that was QB or Mizzou cause he might not get that job back from Matty..

Ummmm.... No. James Franklin is one of the best quarterbacks in the country. Mizzu is trying to win the SEC, so Franklin will get his job back when he gets healthy.

I remember that Ben called the plays himself from the huddle or his dad would send in a quick signal! Unbelievable coaching and staff.

If Lens doesn't roll ankle, west hangs in that game.

Do you really believe that? That West team was a special group and a lot of fun to watch, but that Kenton squad was on a completely different level.
