Taking Vc in this one. They get back on track, and get their first win against Nelsonville since '99.

VINTON COUNTY over NELSONVILLE-YORK
Gotta like the Vikings chances of getting a win against the Buckeyes...
Also, I like how people can talk about the game itself without constantly throwing the BIG FISH small pond reference at VC...must be nice to have a good ol stay on the topic conversation!
Good Luck to both teams and Stay Healthy!

Vinton County is a charter member of the TVC and if you take into affect the socioeconomic factor, VC is merely 3 Millers/Eastrns/South Gallias scattered out over a county wide area.

At one point in time, this was THE GAME in the TVC/TVC-Ohio. This rivalry was once the greatest in the TVC and throughout the past 12 seasons its been anything but competitive. In fact I'd almost call it meaningless. With the exception of 2 seasons, this game has been a blowout over the last 12 years. However, it was once one of the most important games for VC and NY. Back in the prime of the rivalry (1990-2000) each team traded blows on their way to 11 TVC/TVC-Ohio championships combined in those 11 seasons. (8 outright, 1 shared between NY/VC and 1 shared between VC/Meigs) in those 11 seasons, only Meigs won a title outright or shared besides NY and VC. It was total domination. The games themselves were amazing to watch. In the 11 year span the series went to NY 6-5. There were only 3 blowouts. 2 by NY (1992: 41-7/1998: 34-18) and 1 by VC (1996: 42-6) There were FIVE 1 point games (90, 91, 93, 95, 00) 3 went to VC and 2 to NY. The other 3 games were won by a touchdown or less. Since then, VC has really fallen off the map while NY has continued to be dominate. Hopefully this season will be the first of many close games and will kickstart this rivalry back to where it once was. I know being from VC, there are two games we circle each year...NY and Wellston. Here's to a good game tomorrow night! GO VIKES!!

Man if you can't appreciate the socioeconomic differences between Vinton County and Athens YOU truley are a Questionmark
or at least clueless.
Athens is a plethora of educational opportunities, man take advantage of that.
If you already have, ask for a full refund for tuition, as you got ripped off.

-BIGHITS ol' Sparring Buddy! Quick reply, this is a topic for NY vs. VC. Not Athens!
First, Athens 'has' a plethora of educational opportunities.
AND! I have used them all to further my Education to make me a better teacher/coach!
Second, Not once did I compare Vinton County to Athens in my post. I simply noticed a rare thread where people were talking football, just football. Not one mention of the fact that one school is a Division III school while the other is a Division VI. That is all. Have a wonderful Friday Night Bighitsand Stay Warm!
