This is for a the TVC championship and playoffs for the marauders as they moved into the 9th spot in the region with warren upsetting Gallia the other night. If meigs wins this game it will be their first TVC title since 1998 (or1999), needless to say its been a while and if Athens wins it will be their I think 49th TVC championship (in all sports) since coming into the conference. Is this the week that Athens gets beat or do they continue to roll???

Athens will have to play their starters into the 4th quarter this week. Meigs will keep it close for a half or a little longer before Athens imposes its will on them. I see like a 49-28 game that will be closer that that score indicates.

Athens is the favorite and should win, but I'll say this Meigs team is very capable of winning this game. They obviously can score points. I think the Meigs D is much improved and they could pull this off if they can play solid zone coverage and mix their blitz packages well. I'll be rooting for the Marauders this Friday and I'm expecting a great football game no matter what. Go Meigs.

First full game Athens will have to play in awhile. May get uncomfortable for them in the second half, at least for a bit. Bulldogs pull away in the 4th quarter.

Meigs has a pretty good team. Don't get me wrong, nothing compared to Athens but I wouldn't call them a weak team

Line up every SEOAL team top to bottom vs. every TVC team top to bottom and the TVC wins the majority of those match-ups. So I suppose it would be the battle of the "weak" versus the even weaker. Didn't the SEOAL top dog just go down this past Friday to a team Meigs blew out?

Meigs last three games in TVC Ohio have been won an average score of 44-11.
Athens last three games in TVC Ohio have been won by an average score of 64-11.
Meigs beat Warren week 43-18 with a strong second half.
Athens beat Warren week 42-6.
Athens beat Fairland in a shootout 55-46. Meigs got beat by Fairland 33-20.

No other football team in Southeast Ohio has performed as good as Athens this season.
Undoubtedly, Athens is the team to beat. Great offense and great defense.

That being said and as some hope to Meigs, Meigs is peaking at the right time.
The Meigs offense is playing great. Their defense is playing great. When a great team like Athens plays
a very good and improved team, anything can happen. Turnovers, penalties, execution, and
certain matchups can change the outcome of any game. Athens is a clear favorite, but Meigs can win.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Meigs win this one. Unfortunate for Athens that they had to play Meigs following VC. Athens beat VC, but I heard the Vikings beat them up physically. Look for Meigs to take advantage. If Meigs wins they should send VC a thank you card.

After watching both teams play this season, I have to give the nod to the Bulldogs.

Meigs is a talented team, but Athens will still be able to score at will on them much like they did against Fairland because of their sheer size.
