Re: Week 9: Notre Dame (6-2) @ Symmes Valley (5-3)
Wow! This will be a good game! I think I'm going to have to go with the team that has the stronger schedule. Scheduling is very important!
Symmes Valley 28 Notre Dame 21
Sorry, to the ND faithful!
After some consideration I'm going to have to change my prediction!
Notre Dame 24 Symmes Valley 21
Sorry Symmes Valley fans.

Re: Week 9: Notre Dame (6-2) @ Symmes Valley (5-3)
Good luck to both teams! Two pretty strong teams: question is, who will have the most rushing yards?
btw for Symmes fans, you might be interested in knowing while Fisher Catholic started 0-5, they've won their past three, will more likely than not win next Friday and could end up beating a 5 or 6 win team in week 10, so there's a few points coming your way.

Thanks F C fan we need them, This week is a must win to get in the playoffs time to step up and dig deep, vikings by 10.

I know some Racine fans sure are hoping for SV to not only get in, but to travel back to Racine for a playoff first round game. Of course I am sure Trimble is hoping to play one of these two in the first round as well. 8)The FC Fan wrote:Good luck to both teams! Re: 6-2 Notre Dame @ 5-3 Symmes Valley
as bad as i hate to say it i dont see the vikings doing any better against nd then they did OH. i hope im wrong but my faith is dwindling this year.
Re: 6-2 Notre Dame @ 5-3 Symmes Valley
This will be a dandy game to watch,2 evenly matched teams with the Vikes getting the win on senior night 20-14
Re: 6-2 Notre Dame @ 5-3 Symmes Valley
From watching both teams play Oak Hill, I give the edge to SV especially at home.

That doesn't really mean anything. Different styles make games. SV is allot more physical then ND in my opinion. They will pick up huge chunks of yards on the ground against ND and long sustained drives will keep NDs offense off the field.ManitouDan wrote:^^ ? Pulling for the gold helmet's in this one! I say ND 18-16. Onward to victory!

Re: 6-2 Notre Dame @ 5-3 Symmes Valley
I can tell SV is a lot more physical than ND -- that is why Oaks scored 26 points.
Re: 6-2 Notre Dame @ 5-3 Symmes Valley
Exactly what I was thinking ^^^
People say some of the most random things on this board. I wonder if they actually study the game or just sit up in the stands as a fan and play "If I were coach".
This game is always a physical game, and Symmes has come out on top the last 4 years. This game will hopefully change the past. Notre Dame has a ground game that has proven strong and hard to stop. Oak Hill was able to control the line of scrimmage and had success in containing the run. But I do not think Symmes has the same ability to stop ND for 4 quarters.
Symmes up front can be physical but how long can they keep that up? They will need to play solid all 4 quarters and not take any plays off because ND can score on any day from anywhere on the field.
Whoever shows up to play defense Friday should set themselves up for a win.
If the refs don't try and keep it close I believe ND is just too much this year.
ND - 35
SV - 14

Re: 6-2 Notre Dame @ 5-3 Symmes Valley
I'll be pulling for a SV victory just because I want to see both make it to Week 11. It's Senior Night and the Vikings need this one. Playoff atmosphere will be all over Lawrence County Friday night as Symmes Valley, Ironton, and South Point are all fighting for their postseason lives. Gotta love it!
Re: 6-2 Notre Dame @ 5-3 Symmes Valley
Oak Hill scoring 26 points against SV has nothing to do with it. SV is a much more physical team then ND. They will control the line of scrimmage and beat ND easier than OH did. If I'm wrong I'll be the first to admit it but I doubt that I am. Both good teams I just don't see SV losing at home.dirt_cinders wrote:

We have a difference of opinion. I will go based on what we can see - 26 points were scored against that physical defense and only 14 (8 on Oaks first posession and 6 in the last minute of the game) against ND's less than physical defense.
You do have one point we both agree on --- it will be hard to win at Symmes.
If flubby is refereeing even harder.

Re: 6-2 Notre Dame @ 5-3 Symmes Valley
The folks from ND have the same opinion every year and every time they get beat it has something to do with the officials LOL.
They really think they have some kind of team until it gets to the meat of their schedule. However, the fact of the matter is that they have only beaten SV 2 times in the past 10 years and that was in 2007 and 2008 by very small margins 13-9 and 26-20 against 2 of SV's weakest teams that they have fielded over that entire span. 2007 team was 3 and 7 and the 2008 team was 5 and 5.
I do agree though that this will be a hard fought game, but I just don't see SV losing this one.
