Trimble is a very good football team whom I watched in the playoffs last fall. The top three in this region are all outstanding football teams who can play with virtually any small school in this part of the state. That said, the state championship talk is probably a little pre-mature. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Maria Stein Marion Local in division 7? They play in the M.A.C. in western Ohio with St. Henry, Coldwater, Anna, Versailles, Minster, etc. A few years back they beat Shadside 77-6 in the state championship. This year they are unbeaten with wins over a D2 one loss West Jeff team 29-0 and a five touchdown beating of Coldwater, who by the way beat Columbus Bishop Hartley 41-16. If anyone in D7 beats them it will be an epic upset.

West Jefferson is a D5 school. The teams they have played are 28-28.

Just an FYI

Southern will think they have a chance until they step off the bus and see Roy, Hootie, and all the rest of the gang smiling at them.

More like, Southern will think they have a chance to win until they step off the bus and see those red helmets. At that point the game will be over. So the game will remain close until Southern steps off the bus. Then the route will be on.

Now that was funny. Who was the referee that was umm at the Trimble Nelsonville game at Nelsonville. ahh that would be Hooty !! And TBH I thought he did a good job but he is from Nelsonville so I think we should keep it out of the area when it comes to the ref calling...LOL

Go Cats... Keep on rolling

Trimble 407 yards to Southerns 172.
The Mohawk Mafia did give up one score off a turnover on a kickoff return but other than that they pretty much dominated the running game of the Tornadoes holding barton to 46 yards. He did have one ctr. for about 35 yards so if you take that away they would have held him to around ten yards.
Konner Standley had 113 yards rushing and 212 passing for a total of 325 yards. Jacob Koons looked like a bulldozer out there tonight. Both lines for the tomcats did a great job giving standley time and blocking for the running backs.
Jacob Kish returned and boy did he make an impact. He lit up Southerns 265 fullback and flat decleated him and knocked his helmet off for about ten yards. That was the turning point in the game. Austin downs and Wyatt Bragg had some nice grabs along with koons out of the backfield.
The negatives though is Trimble turned the ball over 3 times in the first quarter to let southern hang around. they also had another turnover later in the third. Southern came out motivated and played a good first quarter and led 14-7 at the quarter. However, reality hit and the mohawk mafia woke up and scored 35 unanswered points the rest of the way. They should have had a few more but fumbled inside the redzone and stalled one more time.
Good luck to southern week 11 and the cats on completing step 9. 1 more to go.

Well said Enforcer! Southerns offense did not impress me. The first touchdown came on a poorly thrown pass that ended up as a pick six. The second one came on a broken play. The Mafia defense played a very, very solid game. Both teams were hitting very hard. The cats had four turnovers and a lot of penalties, some of those penalties were costly. I hope they have that out of their system cause those will hurt you in post season play.

Congrats to Konner Standley on Breaking Trimble's single season Passing TD record. Coming into the game he was tied with Mike Roback 1980 (10-0) and
Roger Bingman 1989 (10-0) with 19 TD passes. After last night he became the leader with 21 TD passes.
If the Tomcats take care of Business then they will become the third team in Trimble history to go 10-0.

FYI. Austin Downs moved into the two spot last night for yards in a season and needs 49 Yards next week at F.H. to break Scott Holbert's record from 1980 (10-0) who has the record with 988 receiving yards in a season.
Austin currently sits at 940 yards for the season.
Trimble defense has 6 shutouts and 1 more could break the season record.
Also Trimble has only given up 33 points. The season record is 46 by the 1989 (10-0) team at 46.
Step 9 complete now on to step 10.
Tell fed the mafia's coming.

You said they gave up 33 point but really the D has only given up 26, also I guarantee Down breaks the record next week

Southern couldnt have beat trimble if they played 10 times but the officials did take over and screw southern late in the 2nd quarter. I credit alot of that too Trimbles crowd, once they got on the officials they seemed scared and made sure they left town in one piece.

The only ones I saw that were scared was Southern's coaches. They seemed scared for their players once the hitting started. The players played timid after a few helmet jarring hits by Trimble's players. That was the difference in the game, the physical toughness of Trimble. Southern showed they have some athletes, but wanted no part of that game from the second quarter on. Good luck to both teams in the post season.

Trimble got screwed on the leading with helmet call. He hit him with his shoulder pad, then the r.b. from southern threw a punch he should have been tossed
