Two yrs ago yes valley was the better team but last yrs 9-7 valley win was handed to them by the refs and everyone who was there knows that. As for this yrs game I look for a shoot out like like two yrs ago
WOW.... :122246 A burg fan complaining about a bad call from the refs Well now you know how the rest of the county feels when they come to play in Ed Miller stadium....
We've been on the bad end of quite a few calls this yr at home
The first game I ever attended at Valley(three or four years ago), I was surprised. Everyone thought the refs controlled an even ballgame, and handed Valley the game. (it was with West). I still don't think I have ever thought that about a game before or after that, enough to complain about it. So it surprises me to read Burgites felt that way last year. It was a close game last year, I think it will be close this year. Burg wins.

No matter who wins this game. Both teams should represent well in the playoffs. We will all be rooting for each other come week 11 and beyond. How amazing would it be to see both these teams in week 15?

Burg will not stop Valleys run game which will allow them to slow the game down and not turn it into a track meet and keep burgs offense off the field
I think we heard the same thing last week....

If Valley holds Burg to 17 points, I'll be amazed. Valley couldn't hold Portsmouth to 17. For Valley to win they will have to outscore the Pirates in a high scoring game not a low one, in my opinion. The Indians are good at D but they aren't that good.

I don't know if the Pirates can stop Valley's running game or not. If they can't I don't think Valley will possess the ball all that long though. In the shootout between Burg and Fairland both teams scored quickly both running and passing. If this one is a shootout two or three stops may be all it'll take to win.

Same thing was said last year. Everyone scored more points on Valley than wheelersburg except Minford(0pts), West (0pts) and Waverly (7pts). Even Northwest and Rock Hill hung more on Valley than the Burg. The #1`s havent allowed a single point since Van Buren in week 2.

Burg is averaging 47.5 points a game and 451 yards a game
241 passing yards a game and an average of 26 passes a game
209 rushing yards a game and an average of 28 rushes a game

a pretty balanced offense from the burg unless alot of those rushing attempts are coming at the end of the game

After reading through this thread everyone is saying pretty much the same thing. Valley's strength is there running game and Burg's is their passing game. Everyone seems to be be in agreement on this. Here is what needs to be looked at who is better at the other aspect of there offense. Can Valley throw enough to keep Burg from loading up the box. Can Burg run enough to keep Valley from pinning their ears back and bull rushing every down. This game is not going to be won by the team that does what they do best it will be won by the team that can keep the other teams defense honest and off balance.

This is going to be a fun Friday night game for the kids, the fans and the communities involved. Turnovers and special teams may ultimately determine the outcome. But, really, who cares. Sit back, talk smack if you will, and enjoy the week. This is what high school football is all about! I'm grateful I am able to attend, regardless of outcome! Best Wishes, INDIANS!!

Burg with the far more experienced player at the biggest position on the field , QB . Sr>Soph in the biggest game of the year . Plus playing at home . i'll say Burg by 8 . 28-20
