Yea, but you don't have to leave Lucasville to buy a cold one!wobycat wrote:Burg will win convincingly. Why? Because, what does Valley have? A Wendy's, a pizza place, a worn out dairy bar, local coffee shop...yawn :12224 . Where as Burg has Wendy's, McDonalds, Pizza hut, Taco Bell, Burger King, Arby's, Sakura! Hello!
Joking aside. No one is talking Valley's passing game. My guess is Burg will try to force the sophomore to have to win the game for the Indians. Load the box, run blitzing, cover the guards, etc. If he can convert those third down plays, Valley has a great chance of a three peat.

And that may all change come election time from what I hear. You can also buy a cold one in the Burg. Well, technically it's Portsmouth, but it's right there at the end of 140.Bo_Diaz wrote:Yea, but you don't have to leave Lucasville to buy a cold one!wobycat wrote:Burg will win convincingly. Why? Re: 8-0 Valley @ 8-0 Wheelersburg SOC2 Championship
I've not seen valley play but I have seen some of their stats. It would not surprise me one bit if both teams are playin in week 14 or even week 15. Both teams have what it takes to win the whole thingPaladin wrote:My pick is Burg. Should be a good game but just expect Burg to pull away, probably by at least 2 scores. Both Valley & Burg move on to playoffs but neither get out of the region.

Myself, crab_apple4, and a few other of our buddies did this back in 2009.
We watched Valley-Coal Grove on Friday, Ohio State-USC on Saturday and Bengals-Broncos on Sunday.
Valley lost with about 20 secs left on about an 75 yard, running out the clock, screen pass.
Freshman quarterback Matt Barkley went 86 yards in the final 2-3 minutes to beat the Bucks 18-15.
Brandon Shipley caught a tipped Hail Mary to beat the Bengals 12-7.
WORST. WEEKEND. EVER.
Our livers hurt and we couldn't talk for a week. Would have been worth it for 3-0, but it blew with an 0-3.

However, there are still some upside possibilities....if yabba goes, it would require a Burg loss for 0-3, let's be honest crab's bro your liver (along with mine, crab apple, etc) is likely going to get punished this weekend anyway, plus with a budding bro-mance on the horizon between yabba & free safety who are any of us to stand in the way?Crab's brother wrote:Just a word of caution....yabbadabbadoo wrote:Ok, here is my weekend.

Sorry free safety, I have a date for all three. LOL
Crab, I'll take 2-1 as long as that one loss is by the Bengals. :122245 0-3 would be crushing and this weekend that is possible.
Burg-Valley will be a slobberknocker. Still think it will come down to has the ball last. Burg has a decent Freshman kicker, like valley had last year and could come down to that.
OSU-PSU-always a tough game, could go either way.
Bengals-Jets-thought this would be an easy game but after Jets handled the Pats, might be a different story.

Re: 8-0 Valley @ 8-0 Wheelersburg SOC2 Championship
Friends from both schools, Steely ain't pickin' a winner for this one. I'll play Captain Obvious this week and say that hands down, this is the small school game of the season south of I-70. Now, think about that for a second. Some will disagree with me, but honestly, this one is going to be a DANDY. Probably one of the best games in Southern Ohio in at least 3 or 4 years.
All my friends, and the fans for both teams, just go enjoy the game, watch the kids pour their hearts out, and then relish the victory. Regardless of the winner of this game, both teams are the cream of the crop in SEO, and should enjoy a great deal of success in the post season.
Best of luck to both teams, play hard and injury free. And for all you supporters there watching the game, enjoy it. It will be one for the ages........

It is KILLING me that the season is coming to and end! Both of these schools have great senior classes and have had lots of success. I know I am driving my boys nuts but I can't help but try to remind them to ENJOY this because it comes to end all too soon. Congrats to ALL the fellas on both sides and play like it is the last time you will play each other... For the seniors... IT IS!! ;(
Re: 8-0 Valley @ 8-0 Wheelersburg SOC2 Championship
That was miserable, especially the Valley and Bengals losses...the best part was the traveling to and from. lolCrab's brother wrote:Just a word of caution....yabbadabbadoo wrote:Ok, here is my weekend.

I will disagree about the traveling to Cincinnati on that Sunday morning... Wasn't one of my favorite trips!

I would love to post pictures from that weekend, but the risk of self-incrimination is way too great.

I sure wish this was a Saturday game, this should be a barnburner.
Re: 8-0 Valley @ 8-0 Wheelersburg SOC2 Championship
I really doubt you could fit any more fans into Ed Miller Stadium than what will be in attendance Friday night. Even with the cool weather, I expect the hillside to be packed and 5-6 deep all around the fences. You're Tiger Bait wrote:I sure wish this was a Saturday game, this should be a barnburner.

then what wrote:Cal preps:
Wheelersburg-35
Valley-21
Sounds about right..........
Cal preps missed it last year also.
neutral field
[2012] Wheelersburg (OH) 26, [2012] Valley (Lucasville, OH) 21
I'll agree, Valley is still the underdog everywhere you look. Wheelersburg is an Excellent football team and probably deserve to be #1 in the AP Poll.
If Valley wants respect, they will have to go earn it like they have to every year. But you dont see a team as
- Back to Back conference Champions
- Back to Back Regional Champion Runner ups
- 28 game regular season winning streak that returns as many starters as they do as an underdog.
Valley will have to accept the underdog role (as they probably should since Burg in at home and #1) and come out Friday and fire on on cylinders and impress everyone. The way I see it. If they want to be taken serious and make a deep run into the playoffs and possibly the state. They need to be able to beat the great teams like Wheelersburg.
