Like noted Ironton is nearly at full health and that will be a big boost that and the running back for Ironton will prove to be a game changer.
Ironton keeps the turnovers down they win by 2 TD's if not it will be a lot closer than wanted.

My understanding Ironton have 12 freshaman out for football. Their lower level 7 and 8 grade teams are small and not very good at this time.

ground and pound is good but win given the opportunity (Portsmouth game) put a team away , get them out of there game when given the chance don't just ground and pound (survival football) show them your hear to play win football.

the running back being very good should open up the pass play with these receivers on the team 15-20 yd pass plays are open. when they put 9-10-11 guys 3 yds away from the ball hit the pass play.

The junior high has a lot of talent in their backfield, just not a lot of size on the line. The freshman team is loaded with size...should be a good combo come high school time. I look for a number of these 7th/8th graders to be seeing varsity time by their sophomore year if not by their freshman year. As far as defense, I've seen some aweful good hits this season, the type you cringe when you see them, however they have been riddled with injuries all year. Hoping for a big W Thursday night at undefeated Jackson. The team is finally at full strength.

Jackson's 8th grade team is undefeated for a reason, very well coached for a junior high team and some very good athletes. I doubt seriously they give one up to Ironton tonight. The 7th grade Ironmen team is solid but not as deep overall so if Jackson loses one tonight it will the first Jr. High game not the 8th grade be my guess.

Oak Hill I think may go into Tank stadium tomorrow night and come out with a "W". Rooting for the Oaks in this one.

I'm not a tiger hater, personally I could careless about them. I am a supporter of SOC schools, both divisions unless they are playing West. To answer your question West could play with any team Ironton has played this year and would be 3-7 if not 4-6 with that schedule. The tigers didn't play the same Portsmouth team that West did or that score would have been worse. Portsmouth was with out their starting QB and their best athlete in Robinson. So before you ask your next silly question Yes I do think West is a better team then ironton this year.
Yes we did not beat Portsmouth. But look at all the injuries we had. Seen West play did not impress me at all. Have to disagree with you in regards to West being able to play TIGERS schedule. Would love to see West play this schedule. No chance West is better.
West could play that schedule and would have the same record as Ironton. Ironton didn't impress me at all either.

Looks like there is going to be some good football in the upcoming years in southern Ohio...I just hope Ironton keeps playing Jackson and Burg. They both should be very good in a couple of years with the kids coming up, as will Ironton.

First let me state that winning at the Junior High level does not mean you are going to be good in high school. I have watched the Ironton Junior High team 2 times and both times they lost by big numbers.

You may not have a great 7th or 8th grade Team overall, it's the mixture of the really good players from each class that's makes for a good High school Team.

I think Ironton pulls out a win this week.

Success at the PeeWee, Jr. High, and to some extent the Frosh level does not correlate into success at the Varsity level necessarily each time. Watched too many teams have success (even undefeated seasons) at those lower levels without it translating into the same success at a Varsity level. It is the chemistry that happens when you mix them up 9-12 and the coaching that goes with it, plain and simple.

I think we're in agreement on that!!!

Great to see Bodmer, Berry and Young back this week. I thought for sure we had lost Bodmer and Berry for the season the way their injuries had looked, great to see them make it back.

Even though the tigers are getting some injured players back, I look for a mild upset!

Oak Hill 21

tigers 20
