I don't believe he is an Athens fan.skidaddy wrote:Sum it up, don't be too over confident about your teams talent. You have a very good team and walk all over teams in this area. I wouldn't be shocked to see Athens have a bit of a letdown this week. Coach Adams said prior to the game last week that the way he kept the players motivated was the quest for a perfect half of football and they played nearly flawless in the first half last week. I'm not saying that Athens won't win but I don't think they will be quite as sharp this week and I believe the score will be closer than a lot of people think.Dundas wrote:Couldn't say it better myself.McArthur General wrote:We have no chance in this game, can't defend the pass and our predictability on offense, we simply can't. The only way we have a chance, if the Athens starting 22 trip and break their ankles getting off the bus, but even then, I give us a 50/50 chance. I can see this game getting ugly. The Vikings cannot defend the pass, they have made average qbs look like superstars, what's going to happen when a superstar like Burrow throws on them? Another thing, the Vikings lost their best pass rusher for the year. I can see this game getting into the 60's by the third quarter, the only reason why it won't end up in the 80's, unlike Alexander, we will be able to take time off the clock, mercifully.

A couple things Athens could do to help solve the underlined problem above: They could have the starting 11 on defense fall down on the snap of the first 3 or 4 VC possessions, thus allowing VC to score a few times. Then on offense have Burrow throw the ball to the VC LB's on the first 3 or 4 offensive snaps. That would allow them to see what it is like to have to come from behind. They should start each quarter that way, so they would have a reason for the starters to play all four quarters as well. If they go through this process during the final three regular season games it should help prepare them for weeks 11, 12, 13,... Just a thought.doubleplay643 wrote:Clearly Athens goal for VC, Meigs and NY is to get some good reps in for the starters in the first 2 and a half to 3 quarters, avoid any injuries.
VC is a most improved team along with Meigs this year obviously, but I think if any team gives the Bulldogs any test until week 11 it will be Meigs...and look for that to be only for a half or so.
Athens biggest problem to face in week 11 or 12 or 13 will be how do they react when facing someone that can shut them down or be behind by a score or two, as they have not had any adversity whatsoever this year...unless you count the Jamboree game lol with Trimble.
But hey, good luck Vikings take it to one of the best teams in SE Ohio right now and see what happens...that is why they play the game after all.
Sorry to hear to that!!!skidaddy wrote:Sad to hear that Sean Caudill tore his ACL last Friday night. Good player that will be missed by the Vikings.

Nope, I don't think so. I said I don't believe you are a Athens fan (not the primary team you pull for anyway), am I wrong in that? I really can't tell for sure who you pull for, you are all over the map with most of your posts.Sum_it_up89 wrote:A-Town Big Dog 2 wrote:I don't believe he is an Athens fan.skidaddy wrote:Sum it up, don't be too over confident about your teams talent. A-Town Big Dog..... Do u know me?????
That team from the WEST may still be out there but they are in a different region this year so the only way we could see them would be in the state semi-final and win or lose I would be just fine with that. :122245skidaddy wrote:Sum it up, don't be too over confident about your teams talent. Apparently Gallia, Watkins, Warren, Fairland, Jackson, Wellston, Alex and VC are all weak teams.moonshine wrote:Another lopsided victory over a weak team!
