Week 8: Caldwell 20 @ Fort Frye 19 Final
If Fort Frye wins this game they are in the playoffs if not it will be close and they will have to rely on others.

Re: Week 8: Caldwell (5-2) @ Fort Frye (6-1)
Huge game in terms of playoff implications for both teams. A win for either and their chances of making it to the post season improve greatly. Was a great game last year, with Fort Frye winning 35-34 in overtime. Hoping for that outcome to be reversed this year.

Fort Frye has been terrible at stoping the run. They will have to lean on the offense and hope Chan Lang, Prittchard , and Shuster come to play. Should be a dandy on Homecoming in Beverly. Over the last 2 seasons Fort Frye has found ways to win the close ones. Also Fort Frye has not lost a home game since 2011.

I think this game will be a shootout. Caldwell has more weapons but FF has Lang. I don't think FF can shutdown Caldwells 1-2 punch of Clark and Lori, but I'm thinking Lang will have the final say. FF 34-28.

Do you guys happen to have a roster for these two teams? I'm most interested in Ft Frye's roster, because I'm going to try to put together a playoff preview for Region 21 when the time comes and I'm trying to gather rosters now of potential qualifiers. Thanks ahead of time.

Turnovers will be key in this game. Caldwell has done well in forcing turnovers this year, but they've coughed the ball up a bit themselves too. Whoever can create those turnovers and then capitalize on them will most likely win. I'm not sure Fort Frye can stop Caldwell's run game, but I don't think Caldwell will be able to stop Lang either. The most you can hope to do is contain him. Should be a good one in Beverly.

Good luck to both squads in this one.
I like Caldwell to take this one by 7 points.

Fort Frye needs to man up on TE 88 and the WRs play no safety and stack the box.

I think that's the best way to play it. That's what MC did and had success for the most partEasternDspy wrote:Fort Frye needs to man up on TE 88 and the WRs play no safety and stack the box.

Based on points per game, I believe this is the league's top offense (Fort Frye), against the leagues top defense (Caldwell.)
Fort Frye has scored over 30 in 5 out of their 7 games. Caldwell hasn't give up more than two scores other than against Central.
Somethings gotta give.

Common opponents say it's going to be a close one. Fort Frye does a lot of things Central had success with. Fort Frye will get the speed on the edge. Shockling will dominate the guards of Fort Frye leaving the middle stuffed.

Big plays will be key. Have to try and limit Lang and company from hitting the big one. Guys like Clark, Heller, Carpenter, etc need to be ready to come up from their secondary positions and tackle well if Lang gets the edge to the outside.

I don't know if the Caldwell people have heard of Zach Prittchard yet but he's a vertical threat with 8 Rec TDs and 10 TDs total. Also Shuster has 3 100 yard rushing games and Layton has been hammer inside with 6 rushing TDs.
Re: Week 8: Caldwell (5-2) @ Fort Frye (6-1)
Looking forward to this game. I think the game will be won at the line. Caldwell over powers FF line and wins 33-27

I think Jake has it right it comes down to the team that makes the big mistake.
