OVC Championship Fairland @ Coal Grove
OVC Championship Fairland @ Coal Grove
The top two teams in the OVC meet up in Coal Grove. Thoughts?

Re: OVC ChAmpionship Fairland @ Coal Grove
I just hope one of these teams actually plays a little defense in this game. They both have some talented kids, and they've both played solid schedules. But, they've both given up a TON of points this year. Going in I think Fairland is the favorite, but it seems like every year the OVC has more upsets than any other conference in the SEOP area, so I wouldn't be shocked if the Hornets pull this one out.

This will either turn into a barn-burner or a Fairland blowout. Coal Grove has to keep Fairland's offensive off the field. Chesapeake was somewhat effective at it for a half this week; the Hornets will have to play almost mistake-free on offense and run the football well between the tackles. Fairland is by no means a great team, but they're solid and run an offense that will absolutely kill you if you miss open field tackles or take poor angles of pursuit - hallmarks of the CG defense this year. The Dragons could be a thorn in the side of team who has a bad night in week 11.

Taking coal grove in this one. Even though I think fairyland is the better team. Just have a feeling that the grove will pull off the win.

fuzzy, that's the calling card of this series. Every year, no matter how both teams are, its always either a nail biter with a basketball score by the end, or somebody opens up shop and goes to town.fuzzhead wrote:This will either turn into a barn-burner or a Fairland blowout.
Plus if memory serves me correct, y'all have won the last 4 years, so I think it's about time return the favor and give those sons o' biscuit makers a good old country thumpin!
But seriously, I gotta go with my alma mater here. Hornets have had a few games where down the stretch they just ran out of steam while the Dragons have been able to keep the gas pedal pressed down until the final horn. Dragons by a TD or less.

Fairland should win this one. Hornets might stay with Dragons for a quarter or two. Then FHS will pull away in second half.

CG better learn how to open-field tackle, or it's gonna be a loooong night.
Nevertheless, I'll take the Grove in a close one.

I have been screaming this the entire season. If they play any defense and tackle then the Hornets can take this game, if they keep just hitting and praying the ball carrier goes down it will be a long night.

Fairland will be hard to beat. They have the bulls up front and they are agile. They have a speedster running back and athletic QB.
Re: OVC Championship Fairland @ Coal Grove
should be a great game. Hornet tackling did improve @ River Valley last week, as well as the play calling from the sideline. they mixed it up pretty well. # 70 had his best game yet. look for him to be a game changer on defense. the offense also is hitting on all cylinders.....Go Hornets!

River valley was horrible and cg gave up 28 points to them.if they give short that much time to throw, fairland will score at will.
