This has to be some serious stuff to get fired halfway through a football season.......
I guess they really are pretty upset about getting beat by Trimble!

Re: Ed Cromly steps down/fired!?!
I was stunned when I first read this. I have checked a few WV news outlets and no news paper or TV station that I looked at has anything on this story and there are conflicting reports on social media sites between him being fired and retiring which makes me a bit curious. I would like to see something official before commenting to much but keep in mind that if the reports are true and he is leaving that it could be some type of health or family issue also.

WOWK 13 TV does have a story up, that story says that he retired and an assistant coach has taken his place. The story also says that the Principal had no comment, the Super wasn't available and there was no answer at the coach's listed number. The story also states that according to several students the math class he normally teaches at the high school was taught by a substitute today.

Has to be health issues. Know way do you come off a state title and only have one loss so far this season to just up and retire mid season

I was told that Trimble's AD claims that at the AD meeting yesterday Wahama's AD said coach Cromley has been reinstated as head football coach.

Re: Ed Cromly steps down/fired!?!
I've been coaching football for 30+ years and in my observations anytime a coach LEAVES during the season(by retirement or whatever) there is more to the story. MOST in season retirements are due to the coach being asked to step down or he'll be fired. administrators usually let coaches go out gracefully. with cromelys success and longevity at wahama it must have been something bad enough that the administration had no choice. this will be a shake up for the team. it is unfortunate for the team, school coaches, and coach cromley. Hopefully the trimble ad is correct.

Re: Ed Cromly steps down/fired!?!
Can't see him just retiring in the middle of a season or getting fired since he is so successful as a coach, unless he's done something awful bad like bountygate or Sandusky.Haven't seen or heard any news reports on this so still wondering if it is true.
