What's next for the SEOAL?
Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
I think over the next year or so will point to where the SEOAL is heading Portsmouth not leaving till after 2014 will give them some flexibility on how to proceed will a 4 team conference survive only time will tell but the key will be to keeping anyone else from leaving.

Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
RV did not vote themselves into either division, since they are not yet a member and have no vote. See, there you go again opening that mouth, figuratively of course as you typed, and removing all doubt. Now think before you speak, or type, next time.Bevo wrote:I see at the lower levels rv having some pretty athletic teams coming in the next few years.M0TIVAT0R wrote:Apparently with the change in Admin at the top at River Valley they are trying squirm out of the TVC Ohio. if gallia, jackson, warren join the tvc it will prove to strengthen the league and most likely move to 3 divisions
Big Division
Athens
Gallia
Jackson
Warren
Vinton Co.
Wellston
Middle Division
Alexander
Meigs
River Valley
Fed Hock
Belpre
Wellston
Nelsonville
Small Division
Eastern
Southern
Trimble
South Gallia
Miller
Waterford
Wahama
I know a lot of rv folks and they are just glad the 50 mile trips for away league games down 93 and rt 7 are going to be over.
tvc is a much more suited for them

Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
With Athens basketball now on the upswing why would VC want to let Warren in also. Basketball is about the only thing that they compete in the TVC at and to let Warren back in also would put VC and their AD in a bad place. Don't think VC would like talking about finishing behind both each year in their strongest sport.NYBuckeye96 wrote:Dundas wrote:McArthur High School was never a member of the SEOAL. One thing I find interesting with this...............Vinton County never seemed to hold a grudge against any SEOAL school that voted them down to join the SEOAL when the team left the SEOAL for the TVC. Starting with Nelsonville-York in 1970, Wellston in 1982, Meigs in 1983 and Athens in 2008. Vinton County voted yes for all of those additions. Having said that, for some reason, it seems like Vinton County has a grudge with Warren for leaving the TVC to join the SEOAL. From everything I've heard, Vinton County led the initiative to deny Warren readmission to the TVC a few years back. I don't comprehend the difference between the scenarios other than those in power in the 1960s are probably dead and gone and those in power in the 1980s are probably still alive and holding grudges. Just a personal observation.
Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
it's a league boys and girls!, don't think one sport will dictate a schools judgment when voting. if it does they need to look at themselves.
Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
How bout let's put it this way, since these are the facts: They asked to join the TVC, and were voted into the Ohio Division due to their enrollment numbers. They have since then asked, (CHOSE to ask, or have CHOSEN to ask), many times to be moved to the Hocking Division. They even formulated possible league alignments that would put them in the Hocking. They are now claiming they were under the assumption that they would be placed in the Hocking Division from the beginning. I have tried to motivate you to do better, yet you continue to remove all doubt...Bevo wrote:OK! let's put it this way, they were invited to join the Hocking and they chose no to enter that division, so were placed in the Ohio, lol whats the difference (THEY CHOSE)

They have asked even knowing that their administration does not what south gallia and river valley playing regular season games? you have actual proof of them asking or claiming this (minutes of the meetings, e-mails from them? or just SEOP threads and ( which are full of factual statements.) or hear-say?

Nybuckeye96, I have no idea why VC is against Warren coming in but I would think travel would rank high on their list. I couldn't see Wellston being wild about it either.

Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
Motivator this is simply not true. I was a coach at RV when we made the decision to ask to join the TVC. Our plan then and RV's plan has always been to join the TVC Ohio. The league wanted them to be in a two split subdivision Hocking but RV said no because the superintendent had a policy that they could not play South Gallia in a regular season in any sport, thus they refused and insisted on sticking with the original league vote and that was for them to join the Ohio. You should really stop because you are way off base in your supposed facts.M0TIVAT0R wrote:How bout let's put it this way, since these are the facts: They asked to join the TVC, and were voted into the Ohio Division due to their enrollment numbers. Seems silly to me. If the City of Dublin can have Coffman, Scioto and Jerome play each other..................if the City of Pickerington can have North and Central play each other.............if the City of Westerville can have North, South and Central play each other....................then two schools that share the same county (notice its the same county, not even the same city) can play each other.

Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
Was told by a friend of mine who used to be a TVC boardmember that VC did not want Warren back in because they said Warren would dominate everything all the time and also they still had a chip on their shoulder from when Warren left the league in 1986, I think it is time to move on don't you.Fortdawg wrote:Nybuckeye96, I have no idea why VC is against Warren coming in but I would think travel would rank high on their list. Well, for a long time only Westerville North and South, who split in the late '70s, actually played each other.NYBuckeye96 wrote:Dundas wrote:Why is RV not allowed to play SG?

The Dublins, Pickeringtons, Olentangys, and Hilliards all had similar policies. Eventually enough OCC schools voted to realign based on geography and forced the schools to play one another. That was about 4-5 years ago. Until then most of the intra-district games weren't happening.
