I found this interesting about P. South. They are not only awful but their schedule is a bear for travel. I can see how the SEOAL might look good to them. Cut down on travel. Keep the last game open for the Big Red game. And if Marietta comes back as I expect, make travel for a lot of people not bad. Big Red might even want in the SEOAL. South has won 2 games & Big Red only 3 so far this season.

I had a friend from south, said they were always going on 2 hour bus rides. All big schools are in or around Huntington, Charleston, Parkersburg, and Morgantown.

I didn't know Logan beat them in 1977, 20-14. Had to look upmoonshine wrote:Wait one minute! The truth is ironton won or tied the SEOAL from 1971-1976 and 1978-1984 That equal 12RAIDER6309 wrote:Ik 1968 to 1984. They didn't win the first couple but did win 13 or 14 in a row

Does this look interesting and doable
Logan
Jackson
Gallia
Warren
then add
Marietta
Athens
Parkersburg South
Parkersburg Big Red
Presto -- the new SEOAL

Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
That looks good to me.. With Parkersburg's TV station (WTAP) there would be plenty of exposure for the league, which could = more attendance at games. PBurg & South are down in football right now, but are usually a lot better. South has a real strong wrestling program & PBurg is decent in most other sports. Marietta is average in most sports except football, as all of you know. They should have never left SEOAL, and they know it.Paladin wrote:Does this look interesting and doable

Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
That line-up would instantly improve the competition in the SEOAL, cut down on travel time from the other expansion that failed and help with points for the playoffs. Not sure what division PBurg & South would be under Ohio divisions, but it has to be upper. The whole media exposure would be much better as well. Gotta think that the SEOAL would send 3 -5 teams to the playoffs with better preparations for winning. Of course, Athens would have to swallow its pride and stop slumming with the small schools it butt kicks now .

1977, is that the year McKinley picked up the block FGA and ran it back for a TDRAIDER6309 wrote:I didn't know Logan beat them in 1977, 20-14. Had to look upmoonshine wrote:Wait one minute! Marietta and two West Virginia schools.
that's funny.
why not just add a few Kentucky schools - and maybe one from Pennsylvania.

Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
Both schools in WV show on Joe Eitel as D-I in Ohio. But looking at a map, it becomes a much more compact league with travel cut down from the old expansion. Lots of playoff points for those two.
Lets do it. 8)

More compact? ... Athens can ride mountain bikes to all their league games ... I know media personnel in Athens county loves where the Bulldogs are at!!!
I've only filled my gas tank up once in the last two weeks ...

I know Athens is scared. But be a man, grow a set. Stop pounding on all those little fish in minor league ball.

Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
You are a DII school and barely beat the 5th place team in that small pond, Paladin.
The TVC-Ohio is a little better than you give it credit for. Sure Athens won big in league games, but didn't win them by anymore points than they beat Jackson, Gallia and Warren.
Go to joeeitel and look it up ... actually, Meigs, NY and Vinton gave Athens a better game than Gallia, Jackson and Warren!

Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
Why are you talking about that minor league, the TVC? Its the little old SEOAL with people who ran off because they couldn't compete -- Athens, Meigs, N-Y, Wellston ,etc . The SEOAL is the superior league and only looks to get tougher against your weenie league. Everyone knows why Athens ran from the SEOAL -- they weren't competitive with their peers and needed to play weenie programs. Looks like expansion is back for the SEOAL again. Always room for one more.
Athens looks good in YELLOW ! 8)

Athens WILL NOT, I repeat, WILL NOT voluntarily become involved with a League where there is anything close to D1.

Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
Typing BIG FISH over and over and over again is stating facts?
Here is a fact ... Logan is bigger than Athens - than Athens is Nelsonville-York ... there is like 180 boys difference between Logan and Athens - and only 146 between Athens and NY.
The Chieftains were our long time rival, a team I use to hate when I played ... but you know what, I went out and competed and took the situation like a man ... I never cried "big fish" constantly and whined over them being a bigger school!
and maybe if you posted 'big fish' on Logan threads or Tri-Valley threads or any other school that is the largest in its league - then I could understand your stance a little ... but since its only Athens, your stance is perfectly clear.
