I'm still trying to figure out this pond analogy.

Athens is 31-3 in its last 34 games ... and ONLY 15 of those 34 games were against the TVC-Ohio ... less than half.

I mean, do they jump back and forth from pond to pond? is there a tunnel or something? Do you scoop em up with a net and carry them over?

When you guys make remarks about being a big fish in a little pond - its inaccurate information. You are conveniently leaving out more than half of the opponents. Its like calling Ohio State a big fish because of its non-league schedule - even though they still have to make their way through the Big Ten. It doesn't make sense.

And calling a team yellow would make perfect sense if they refused to play someone. Athens didn't - they not only played the SEOAL, they completely thrashed them. That is not the definition of being yellow. How can a team be scared when they go out and beat Jackson, Gallia and Warren by a combined score of 153-25? Heck, little ol Fairland put up almost twice as many points in one game versus Athens than all three SEOAL teams did combined.

Athens is 8-2 vs the SEOAL over the last THREE years ... that is hardly being scared or afraid to play someone.

then why doesnt athens want back into the bigger leaguethey ran from now that they are competitive again with those league teams??

Seriously folks I don't know why Athens left the SEOAL, maybe it was travel and a better gate, maybe it was to compete better, but today it doesn't matter they are not in the SEOAL. They could beat any SEOAL team this year and maybe next year (although I will root for Jackson next year when we meet in the playoffs). After that I am not so certain though.

Bottom line, SEOAL wise, if Jackson, Gallia, Logan stand tall, schedule some quality non-league games to increase their overall competitiveness and wait for this thing to swing full cycle, the SEOAL will remain, and sooner not later be back to 6-7 members which I think is the right number. From what I hear we will have one announced soon and the other this spring.

Now, you guys can go back to catching fish and all that other jargon.

Athens maybe, that one is tough to call right now, just don't have a good feel for TV. Haven't seen them play and had picked them to get beat by New Philly based on similar opponents and scores. So I am simply guessing, it is the SEO bias in me wanting to pick Athens, versus the pragmatic part of me knowing that giving up 55 against LE is probably going to at some point translate to a loss. Question is: Is that this week or next week? Think if they get to Marion Franklin it will be a problem, but just can't decide about this week lol.

Well based on the pictures and news releases in the paper and on the local rag's website from last night's football banquet, I am going to predict 3 years of SEOAL Championships for Jackson.

7 Seniors leaving, 19 Juniors returning including a D1 prospect and some other very talented players, at least 12 lettering sophomores with one all Division, 4-5 lettering freshman with one of those all district honorable mention....plus an undefeated 7th and 8th grade class coming into their high school years soon.

So, that is what is next for the SEOAL....sorry Logan, Gallia, Warren, lol. That is my homer prediction of the day.

Other than the 2007-09 classes, few Logan teams had undefeated or dominant underclasses feeding in. What happened is the Logan staff coached up those classes and that is the feeling I have with this coaching staff. And the cupboard isn't exactly bare in Logan.

Completely agree with you dazed, undefeated seasons at the lower levels doesn't usually or necessarily correlate directly to success at varsity level. And Logan always finds a way to be in the hunt.

I was tired of all the SEOAL demise talk and thought it was time to let everyone know Logan, Gallia and Jackson "ain't" going anywhere and will find a way to turn the ship around and get back in the hunt. The demise of the SEOAL is greatly exaggerated lol.

Well it is good to know ole moonshine and locos are still on board the SEOAL train, and are willing to spar a bit, still a little fight left after all.

Here is what I think lol, the SEOAL will be represented in DII, DIII and DIV next year by Logan, Jackson, and Gallia respectively. And lol Logan will be 9-1 with their loss coming at the hands of a 10-0 Jackson team, and Gallia will be 9-1 as well losing in the mud next year in week 10 and Memorial Stadium to the hands of the Ironmen lol.

But the real beauty to all this is, and here is the kicker...Jackson eliminates TVC powerhouse Athens in Week 12 next year...at the neutral field of Logan.

How the heck is that for a prediction lol.
