Week 7: Oak Hill (5-1) at Notre Dame (5-1)
Week 7: Oak Hill (5-1) at Notre Dame (5-1)
Oak Hill travels to Notre Dame Saturday night for a spot at the top of the SOC 1 standings. Oak Hill is coming off a lopsided win over East and ND throttling Manchester. The two bring opposite powers to the table. Oak Hill prides itself on great defense this year and the Titans look to put up points and wear you done with a strong running game by two of the areas great running backs.
Oak Hill will need to score often if their defense cannot stop ND's offense.
ND needs to throw the ball to keep Oak Hill's defense from stacking the box.
Both teams have a lot of points on the line as well as playoff hopes. Both find themselves near the playoff bubble in their region (as of week 5, I'm sure that will change when Joe Eitel updates the standings).
Could this game decide the winner of SOC 1 or can Symmes always make their presence felt?

I think this will be a close game with the Oaks getting the win 21-17. As far as Symmes Valley it could be a three way tie for the "Gold Football"!

I am going with Notre Dame 21-20 in a very good ball game. Best of luck to both teams.

Could be a really good game if....Notre Dame can play mistake free ball and be successful throwing the football early on to give the running game some room to work. Defense has to play lights out as well. Should be a dandy. I'm sure the folks from SV will be at Spartan to get a look at both teams! Big step for the winner toward the SOC-I crown.

Playing in the old stadium tonight , really like that old place. I was told last night that ND is the smallest school in D7

I would definitely believe it. Just a few years ago they only had 16 kids on the entire team. I know their class sizes are traditionally very, very small in numbers......but typically large in heart. I already gave a prediction on this one, and I just can't shake the feeling that the Titans are going to come away victorious tonight and in the driver's seat of the SOC 1 race. Best of luck to both teams. I hope I get a chance to watch this one in person. The Citadel wrote:Playing in the old stadium tonight , really like that old place. ND is my sentimental favorite in this one, but honestly, I think the Oaks take this one by at least two scores. Good luck to both teams tonight!

Oak Hill scores on a 4th down on a play action pass to make it 14-6 2 point conversion no good. ND first play of the drive young QB Major throws an interception to end the game. Hard fought game by both teams. What a game it was.
