I think that is what noreply66 was saying RAIDER, and I agree with him. The players of the past were recognized then and many of them in hall of fame ceremonies but this is about the present and this is a special group of kids.

Athens would probably win every conference in SE Ohio. If the Bulldogs were in the SOC, they would probably have a couple of closer type games, but would still probably win them.

If Athens is in the seoal I could see the score being like this to make the tvc look bad but they do this to a fellow league team. If Athens wasnt in the tvc Meigs would be the team to beat this year. See what the score is in that one.. See the trend in the tvc ohio for the next few years. Seoal is going to come calling for Athens to join. The TVC admin should show them the door.

Congratulations to the Athens Bulldogs. That is one of the best high school football teams I have ever seen. They would win in any conference they were in. Well coached and excellent execution.

I wish them the best going forward, and hope they represent the TVC well in the playoffs.

Wahama's winning they shouldn't be in the TVC there a West VA. school. Oh wait Trimble's kicking butt they should be in the TVC Ohio.
Alexander is a young team getting better, NY is young ,Meigs is commng on ,VC is getting better. so when they are winning big they should be kicked out

The Burg would give the Bulldogs a game...Their defense is better than what Athens has faced. Plus they have an offense that could go up and down the field with Athens. I would give Athens the edge in a shoot out.

When was the last time any of the schools you mentioned won all but one of the varsity level sports. Didnt athens win all but one last year. No one in the tvc will ever compete with their numbers no one.. Girls boys doesnt matter. No other team you mentioned has done that. In fact up till now no tvc team in the history of the tvc has done that. I think the AD's and School administrators are starting to see the same thing.

Its really narrow minded to think this is a problem just in the sport of football. Also not fair to every other sport. Sounds like they need to let some bigger schools in and divide it by divisions. Yes I think they should ask NY to leave. Really should be in the Hocking being a div 6 school.

I don't remember Athens scoring over 83 points and I've been following SEO area sports since the early 1950s. Until the past two years, I always thought the 1965 team was the best team in Athens history.

What you are failing to see is that is one of the best classes in a history of a school. Not just guys, but girls as well. Those boys on the football team are the same ones on the basketball court, and the same ones on the diamond. You have a core of players who know how to win in every sport competing. The TVC-Ohio is just fine. I know that Vinton County is a founding member, but they are the biggest school in the Ohio right now yet no one is calling for their head. Nelsonville-York is one of the best football programs in SEO, doesn't matter what Division they are in they will always be a factor in Football. In two years, we will most likely see Athens and Vinton County as Division 4 teams, Meigs/Alexander as Division 5 teams and Wellston/ Nelsonville-York as Division 6. River Valley is also thrown into the mix somewhere. But, like most people on here a League isn't just built on one sport. There hasn't been a League in the area in the past 5 years to pull in the crowds for Championships like the TVC-Ohio. Football, Basketball and Baseball. The 2012 Baseball game between Athens and Alexander was the biggest crowd I had witnessed at a baseball game until this past year when that was bested by the Athens/Warren play-off Baseball game.

Anyone who watched the game Friday night, and with a little football knowledge.
Athens ran 30 plays in the 1st Half, 18 pass and 12 run...pretty balanced
Alexander ran 49 plays in the 1st Half, 37 pass and 12 run...

The Spartan were set-up to fail big by their own play-calling. They had drives that lasted 11 seconds, 12 seconds and so on. They were giving a team that was known to score quick a green light score and score often. You must burn the clock against a team like Athens and keep that Offense on the sideline. What Alexander did Friday was the complete opposite. How do you beat Peyton Manning? Keep him off the field!

What I was told is Arno made the score worse than needed to be cause he kept throwing the ball. Incomplete passes kept stopping the clock and giving Athens more time to score more points.
