Yes, West has a realistic chance to win. Just like last week. I said the same against all the doubters. It is HIGH SCHOOL>

You killin me man. Right about what? I don't see anywhere where you gave West a nod against Minford. Didn't you play for Northwest bud? Why don't you go back where you belong. :122246 Wait I will give you the last word cause you cant stand it. So what do you do for a living? Nothing?
If you are right and Valley beats West wow will we never hear the end of your bragging! haha. Like someone else stated, Valley is supposed to win. Wouldn't ever wanna see you encouraging to a team that could win.

Want to talk about stupid? This post is full of ignorance and bias. Blatant bad calls, refs refs refs, fumbles, bad luck, etc. This sounds like someone that has a hard time realizing that Valley has won more then its fair share against West, despite West fans like yourself puffing out their chests on SEOPs. Go back and look through the archives about previous West-Valley match ups and it's the same thing. West too physical, West too strong, West too fast, Valley too soft, Valley won't run on West, etc etc etc!urban buck wrote:That is a stupid statement. However, Valley is a different animal. Coach Crabtree has had his way with Tripplett over the years. I think it continues. Valley by 2 scores.
Several years, the game was a nail biter and at Valley and after several blatant bad calls on fumbles, Valley gets the ball back over and over, talk about home field advantage. Never seen such a bad ref job than at Valley. Then the year West
was 7-0 going against a solid Valley team and the first few plays of the game the stud for West goes down with a terrible injury and West almost pulled the win off then. So in my opinion, West has had their share of bad luck when it comes to playing Valley. Good Luck is overdue for West against Valley. Triplett and company by 2 scores.
And Crabs brother, you been full of yourself long enough.
West had a great win last night, next week is different matchup and a matchup that doesn't favor West's style of play. And finally Crab's bro may be full of himself but his research and knowledge give him reason to be when random message board guy comes out of nowhere with claims that have no validity. It's ok to be a fan but at least be an educated fan.

I stand by what I said. Valley has had some extraordinary luck along with a lot of skill and talent. No one is taking anything away from Valley so cool your jets. You are full of yourself and blind to the truth of the matter. It is what it is. West is the underdog and probably cant compete with your team so they might as well just stay home. And endzone needs to sit on the Valley side! hahahahah

Re: WEST at VALLEY!!! Thoughts!?!?!
I always look forward to the Indians and West hooking up, except I know this thread will be a TOTAL disaster as usual...
Minford struggled last week against Oak Hill, and West coaching staff exploited what they saw on film and got a great, great win for them. With that said, skimming through this thread, you'd think Valley was 3-3 and West was coming in 6-0.
Bo, Crabs, Jesco and these guys are right. Every year, Valley is too soft, slow, etc to compete with West? The Indians are 5-2 against West since joining the SOC II.
I think this will be a good, competitive ballgame until mid 3rd and Valley will pull away.
Indians 35
West 21
I'm not sure what a team will have to do to get some respect, but careful when motivating a team that has won 30 of their last 32 games...

No it reads the other way. You even got a West so called fan telling the West Side how great Valley is like Crabs bro doesn't tell us all the time!. It reads to me like West is as usual the UNDERDOG and that is fine by West. Valley has had a boat load of talent come through their system. I have always been a fan of Valley come PLAYOFF time every year. Keller and Yates were phenonomenal players for Valley. That said, I still think West can compete and that is a realistic expectation. So Good Luck West. Beat them Indians.

Re: WEST at VALLEY!!! Thoughts!?!?!
Several things come to mind....
1) Before anyone feels the need to tell me, I'm very full of myself and extremely proud of the program coach Crabtree and staff have built at Valley.
2) I tried to talk a little football and discussed thoughts on the the type of team Valley is, as to why I believe they will win this game, while also respecting West in the process. I'm still waiting on someone who believes West will win to state why.
3) For those wanting to know where Crab's Bro was coming from when he mentioned Crabtree's success vs Triplett, it isn't just his winning record vs Triplett coached West teams, but also in Triplett's time at schools such as Oak Hill and River Valley.
Come on guys, let's actually debate the game, not just who we WANT to win. I know West fans have a ton of pride and that pride is very justified, but let's debate some actual game talk. Sound good to anyone else?

Re: WEST at VALLEY!!! Thoughts!?!?!
I believe this one will be a nail-biter. As long as the same west team that has won the last three games shows up, I like the odds. West still needs to put in a lot of work for Friday, valley had done a great job of exploiting weaknesses of the west defense. The offense is really starting to come together, if Irwin can become more confident in the pocket and make his throws count, west could have a pass/run attack that could be hard to handle.

Jesco, I have watched a lot of games in my day and seen a lot of coaches come through systems. One thing for sure, I like Coach Crabtree and he has done a good job with Valley's enormous amount of talent to come through his system. He deserves credit where credit is due. I sure don't idolize the man. I don't think he is even the best coach by far in southeastern Ohio. We all have our opinions and of course, I will receive death threats and jibes for that comment! But anyone can win with the talent he has been blessed with and if Yates went down in the game against West instead of Pendleton.? It would of been a blow out. Sorry folks, just my humble opinion as always. ha

I absolutely respect your opinion. I remember how impressed I was that night with the effort the West kids gave after Pendleton went down. They definitely played inspired football that night and made an exciting game out if it.local superstar wrote:Jesco, I have watched a lot of games in my day and seen a lot of coaches come through systems. I don't know if this wil change your opinion of coach Crabtree or not, but it's definitely some food for thought. The 1970's were hands down the "dark days" of Valley football. The Indians overall record for that decade was atrocious at best, yet we had a state title in baseball in the 70's as well as the best basketball teams in school history throughout the decade. I've always marveled as to how a small school can have athletes talented enough to not just be successful, but be dominant at times in the other 2 major boys sports; yet be the worst in school history (as a whole not individual seasons) in football. I'm certainly not pinning all the blame on the coaches in the 70's, nor am I giving all the credit for our success the last 20 years to coach Crabtree either. But, I think it does make me a believer even more in the value a coach (coaching staff) brings to a program in terms of its culture and overall attitude.

No disrespect intended but I don't need my opinion changed. It has been formed over years and it is a good one. Just not as good as yours. Thanks Jesco buddy. Good Luck to both and may the underdogs win!

Re: WEST at VALLEY!!! Thoughts!?!?!
Don't think the 80's was a very good decade for Valley football either was it. Coach Crabtree and staff has done a great job building a very good program in their time there. They have also had a lot of help from other programs. You look back though the years and a lot of the top players on those teams have transfered from other schools mainly Northwest. I know they also had players from West, Minford, Notre Dame, Piketon and sure there is prolly some schools I'm missing. The question is are these kids wanting to go there or our they getting recruited to go there.
