Re: Jackson (3-3) @ Logan (3-3)
Only one player cleared for this week from the previous M*A*S*H unit that were on sidelines last week and apparently someone banged up in practice this week from some reports. On defense we will be starting (2-Seniors); (2-Juniors); (4-Sophomores); and (3-Frosh). Similar situation on offense except take away 2 Freshman and add 1 Senior and 1 Junior. I cannot for the life of me since the late 70's remember this many underclassmen playing.

Portsmouth, quite frankly, is awful and Wheelersburg is as good as they've been for a while. The Pirates haven't been challenged all year. Getting beaten by similar scores doesn't mean you're similar to another team that's been crushed by them. Jackson should win here.
Jackson didn't score until the last minute of the third quarter.
Portsmouth had 18 first downs in the game, 346 yards of offense.
Jackson had 7 first downs, 135 total yards of offense.
Logan beat NY by a point , Jackson beat them 28-0 I'm 2 quarters
With all that said, the Portsmouth defense that played at Logan last week was not good. And I've seen Portsmouth games on film including Wheelersburg and Ironton, and they did not play with the same intensity against Logan.
Think it will be a great game tomorrow night.

1989 is about the best I can remember being even close to that many freshman and sophomores....5 sophomores and 1 freshman getting regular starting time 2-3 on offense and typically 3-5 on defense. Jared Humphreys sophomore year may have been similar.doubleplay643 wrote:Only one player cleared for this week from the previous M*A*S*H unit that were on sidelines last week and apparently someone banged up in practice this week from some reports. The 1995 team had a good bit of those stud sophomores contributing. On our best team ever just the next year....only sophomore Jay Blankenship was not a jr or sr and starting.

Portsmouth was also with out there best and fastest running back and their starting QB. That makes a big difference in a ball game even if you play in NEO.Paladin wrote:We aren't talking price of eggs in China. I'm talking football and I know that's a foreign language down there, but it is relevant how teams compare. That is one example. Second, the only reason Portsmouth was even in the game score wise at the end was because they passed fpr over 200 yds. Is that Jackson's game plan ?
Logan is on a tear giving up few rushing yds to both N-Y and the Trojans. They started the season giving up over 500yds to Lancaster. This is now the easy part of the schedule for Logan. The hard part is over ( except for upcoming Zanesville).
I'll have a prediction up soon. Heres a hint -- Jackson is in trouble !
Re: Jackson (3-3) @ Logan (3-3)
Game day prediction, This will be a very close ball game look for the team that limit mistakes, turnovers and plays well on the defensive side of the ball to win this one . In the end since the game is being played at Logan, the Chiefs will win in a very close game.
Logan 20
Jackson 14

I'm not sure what to think about this game still, a few weeks ago I was sure that Jackson was much better than a beat up Logan team but now the roles seem to be reversed on the injury front so anything is possible.

Thanks paladin. Enjoy putting them together each week, just a hobby in addition to my day job, but I like it. It's always nice to hear that someone actually reads the darn things, LOL.

Great insight and story lines. Having been a long time South Logan resident I miss the LDN sports features.LoganLocos wrote:Get everything you need for tonight's game at http://www.loganfootball.com!
