OVC-WILL THEY ADD SCHOOLS

ANY CHANCE THE OVC WILL BRANCH OUT TO ADD SOME MORE SCHOOLS TO THE CONFERENCE SINCE RIVER VALLEY IS LEAVING.

Who would they add?

Ironton is not about to affiliate with a league unless they can be Notre Dame and be "All sports except football." Symmes Valley used to be in the OVC and left in 1984 to join the SOC, but I don't know that Symmes Valley would be a viable replacement since they're about half the size of the others schools in the league. South Gallia was petitioning for membership when they accepted River Valley, but South Gallia is again about half the size of the other schools.

Oak Hill and Wheelersburg were both charter members of the OVC, but I don't see Wheelersburg leaving the SOC II. Oak Hill would be a good fit since they're not too far away, and it would give the OVC 2 schools in D6. (Coal Grove is the other -- everyone else is D5.)

To be honest, I could see them staying with only 5 schools. Unless we have some crazy shift like they had in college sports and all the SOC II schools decide to merge into a conference with the OVC and the SOC I schools become their own separate thing.

Emabarrassing losses really let's talk about consecutive embarrassing seasons on the Hill.

With the athletes coming through Portsmouth this move will be a league killer. I can't see anyone in the conference competing with them in football or basketball over the next few years. The other sports I don't have a clue of but their basketball team will be off the chain the next several years. The conference will finally have a face though with Portsmouths tradition and statewide reputation. The race for second place should be fun!

Lmao.. When is the last time you were able to watch your team in a playoff game? To talk about teams being embarrassed getting knocked out in the 2nd round of the playoffs when your team of choice hasn't been in years and has so few appearances is laughable. How many times have they made the playoffs? Who knocked them out? What were the scores?

You are always talking about transfers what year was it that you transferred? Elementary? Middle school? No it was high school!! Maybe thats why you post on transferring so much because its so easy for you to identify with!

So is it just speculation or does someone have confirmation that Portsmouth is joining the OVC?

No it's not gonna get ugly!! Lol!!! Bullying? Calling people out by name? Tristan lived in Ironton for years and was driven to RH. He/We chose for him to leave RH for a number of reasons. Football wasn't #1 at the time. Believe it or not it was basketball but we knew football was going to be a big bonus! He had many friends here since this is where he was being raised Nd made the transition real easy! He wanted to be part of the success and tradition that goes along with the program. He hasn't attended RH since 7th grade and at some point I'd like to think the transfer tag would fall off. Considering he never stepped foot in the high school we don't even look at it as him being a transfer. Maybe some do but we can live with that! In the end I wish your team the best of luck beginning tonight and hopefully they can win the remainder of their games!

By the way my law suit was for slander and libel and was proven in court not on a public forum. I guess by proving the slander and libel is why the judge granted me my decision and money. It wasn't about bullying or having a opinion. I don't think I have once called anyone out by name on here be ause it's against the site rules!

Look for Portsmouth to accept the invite, Gallia Academy in a couple of years. Ironton, Jackson, and some KY schools if they can get the scheduling worked out. 10-12 team league with 2 divisions, similar to the SOC.

And your business with Ironton is? As its none of my business why you transferred I feel it's none of yours why my Kids did! When my son continues to get blasted I'll blast back! This can end or we can keep the vicious cycle rolling! I can leave with no further comments as long as my son doesn't become the topic of discussion!

FORREST SAYS: The offer will be made to the Trojans next week, Thursday to be exact. If they accept the offer and the SEOAL folds then an offer will be made to Gallipolis. These are the facts and only the facts. What do you think of that George?

If this is fact I look for the TVC to get a few new members and go to 3 divisions.

^ You guys should take care of your beef with each other over PM, the rest of us could care less.

Anyway back to the topic, what sources do you have to say Portsmouth has been offered an invite and accepted said invite into the OVC? As they've been trying to get into the SOCII for years, this is big news! As far as OVC schools competing with PHS, it would be a good fit as saying they're dominating at the lower levels is a stretch.
