Re: SHL 2013-2014
Sounds like a very competitive slate of games socfan. Hopefully you guys have a successful first year that way you can keep the tradition going. What are your predictions on the games? I only know what a few teams return so I'll hold off my judgement for now until someone with more knowledge speaks

West Union
Peebles (Should be a pretty close game though and I wouldn't be surprised if Wheelersburg ended up winning. Burg had some quality wins last season and were better than their record. How many key players return for the pirates?)
?? Not familiar with the girls teams
Racine Southern
Eastern Brown
South Webster
Re: SHL 2013-2014
Wheelersburg returns D. Miller (6'4" leading scorer from last year), E. Miller, May, Claxon, Widdig (6'2" 3-pt shooter), and Spradlin. There are a lot of rumors floating around that there are several players coming out for the team this year, but I will leave those alone until football is over and the true roster is released. This team will be very athletic and very fast, but won't have a true big man. First year Coach Ater will get a late start with most of the team because of football (5 of the 6 mentioned above all play football). With at least a decent football post season expected, most of these guys will only have a week or so of practice at best before this contest. If things could happen to fall the right right way and with a little luck, Burg could still be in the football playoffs and have a game on this day....

Re: SHL 2013-2014
Look for Peebles to be tough this year. Nobody will stop Justice this year and he is surrounded by role players such as Schmitz, Ironton, And Brown to play key minutes throughout the year. West union looks to be extremely athletic this year but how they will play as a team is yet to be determined. Eastern will be good as long as Scott stays healthy. Lynchburg and Fairfield both have potential to be special but we will just have to wait and see how thins play out for them

Lynchburg can't be playing in that, they are at home vs Miami Trace if it's on Nov. 30thsocfan wrote:The games Coach Young Classic are regular season games, they are the first Saturday of the season. Previews are Friday November 22nd at Lynchburg

How did the preview go?
I heard Peebles got upset by Fayetteville.
Any other surprises?

Re: SHL 2013-2014
Wouldnt really call fayetteville beatin peebles an upset...peebles from wat i seen is way down from wat they have been but still not bad..after justice they really dont have anything..they got out hustled and fayetteville was shootin really good..west union surprised me alot, they have decent height and can shoot decent...didnt get to see whiteoak, north adams, ripley or lynchburg so idk bout them but i do know that lynchburg has some good height...manchester couldnt get a shot off against eastern brown who played real good defense/offense..should be some really good games in shac this year
Re: SHL 2013-2014
Streetballer, I really don't know where u come up with Peebles being down this year! Fayetteville played with everything they had and u never even seen the starting lineup on the floor together for Peebles. The Indians will b fine this year!
Re: SHL 2013-2014
I didn't hear the complete run down but Lynchburg was picked to win Big and Fairfield the Small.
I thought Eastern and Fayetteville also looked good.
Way to many touch fouls called the entire night. I hope this is not an indication of how the league will be called this year.
This type of officiating makes for a very long night and ruins the flow of the game.
Maybe the instructors need some instruction.
