Excellent win to come off the last 3 weeks knowing that the kids have a little doubt in their minds and make that road trip to Vincent, tough to do, and them doing it shows me they got a little bit of mental grit about them to go with their physical abilities.

Several observations:

Generally speaking the sidelines looked like a MASH unit prior to the game and now add Rafferty to that list who is one of the most overall athletic kids on the team and the list just got longer. Conley, Barger, Humphreys, Evans, Edwards, Spires, and several others and now Rafferty. That is 6+ kids that provide significant contributions to each game. Hopefully some of them get cleared and are able to play in the next week or so.

Offensively, well we got our answer about being stubborn on the running game. After opening up with a pass to Rafferty, the next 55 out of 59 plays were runs, and a lot of kids (Griffith, Crabtree, Farley, Sexton) contributing to 450 plus or so yards of rushing. I liked the rotation amongst many of the line positions tonight and I think it paid off toward the end Warren was just gassed and tired of getting hit. Punishing running by Griffiths and Crabtree at the end of the game and how about young Johnny Farley in the first quarter or so with some speed and determination and getting into the end zone twice (also a nice effort on special teams as well with some sticks).

Defensively, I haven't heard how many yards rushing Warren had but it could not have been much. We continue to struggle with the quick passes and some of the shorter to intermediate routes and losing Rafferty is really going to impact that even more. It seems to me we are playing other teams wideouts a little soft and giving them a 8-10 yard cushion at the line to make that quick passing game even more difficult to defend. Every team we have played in the last 4 weeks has been successful with that passing philosophy...so expect to see it now every week.

Special teams, thought are kick coverage was a little lacking last night, just need to be disciplined in the lanes and not give up so many return yards. Also, what a freakish end to the half, and I still can't believe how that played out with no time on the clock. Just odd, very odd.

Logan looks to be a lot like us, some tough non-league games, a 3-3 record as well. Get some rest kids, good week of practice and lets got to Logan and get to 4-3 and then play the remainder in Alumni Stadium.

The definition of a team win.

Solid performances by a lot I mean a lot of kids. Grades 9-12. Amazing how many 15-16-17 year olds were on the field against a much bigger looking Warren team.

Kudos to Warren as well for fighting back hard and defending their home turf.

Hard fought game for both teams. I believe that if it weren't for some penalties and bad luck, Jackson wins by 30. But an awesome job by a young team! The third fourth quarters were a like a prize fight. Two gassed teams that stepped up and were flat out hitching each other.
