WEEK 6-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH WEST

Post by Anonymous_Falcon_Fan »

Next week opens SOC 2 play, and the Falcons will take on the Senators in Friendship. It looks like the West Side has improved, as they now have won their last 2 games convincingly. They are now very confident and probably think they will beat the Falcons, so Minford better not be flat like they were in the 1st half against the Oaks. Again, I expect a balanced offensive attack and more good defense. Let's go Falcons!!! Open SOC 2 with a win!!! Other thoughts???

Even though West is a huge underdog in this one, I think its like 24pts. This game will be a lot closer game then what people think. I think it will be like last years game very physical and low scoring.

The last time I heard Newark Catholic has week one open next season and I think I recall seeing West does to.
I really think that match up would be very, very good for both teams.
As a fan I would like to see them play on all levels if they were to play.

Now about this weeks game between Minford and West.

I agree West is the heavy favorite.
I think they should be and if they come out and play their game they should win by two or three scores.

Good luck to both teams.

I wouldn't think West has open date week one we have played Fairland for about 25 years now on week one dont see that changing. Minford the heavy favorite in this game. West is about a 24pt underdog in this game. Maybe Minford had the open date and you have it backwards.

Minford is an excellent team. Huge up front offensively and defensively. Gonna take a valiant effort from West for sure. But 24 points? I'll see that bet

I think that West has improved, but the Falcons will prevail in this encounter. In an attempt to answer the open date question for Minford, the Falcons have all weeks filled for next season.

If west can limit giving up big plays they can play with Minford. It wont be a blow out.

I haven't seen West play, but as the season has started to play out a little, I think people are seeing that Fairland and Portsmouth aren't as bad as they were thought to have been. I don't think Minford has the speed those teams had and I think this could be a good game.

I agree...could be a good game. I have not seen West either but if they can stop Minford's run game it will be close. Saw Minford versus Portsmouth and granted they did not have to pass too much but for some reason they rolled Stapleton to his left every pass play which is odd b/c he is right handed and Minford has a big line that they must not feel too comfortable with in pass protection. Force the Falcon's to pass where they are not comfortable in the least and we have a competition. Easier said than done stopping the run though. Good luck to both teams.

I got the feeling that minford was toying with Portsmouth. They could run the ball anytime they wanted and were working on the passing game. Which is a good idea. Their run game though is gonna be tough to stop with one for sure and possibly two division one tackles leading the way.
