State ranked yes around here no. They are solid but they ain't getting close to beating burg unless they can find a shut down corner. I don't think people understand the value Holden has on that football team. He's a once in a great while player.

Wheelersburg doesn't play West for 6 games. Alot can happen in 6 weeks. West was supposed to get destroyed by Wheelersburg last year and they almost beat them with 4 starters out and a kid playing quarterback that had never played quarterback before.

West plays Raceland tomorrow. Raceland was the best team West played last year not Wheelersburg.

West was predicted to finish at least 7-3. They are a good team, far from overrated and this is all stupid.

Holden is a good player. But some of you need to go watch elite D1 receivers before saying he's a once in a generation player. We don't have anyone in Southern Ohio with elite D1 speed. Can anyone tell me the last skill position elite D1 player from Southeastern Ohio?

What's your point? Bivens was out for burg that game too. But I agree with you west is not overrated for around here solid team, just not where burg is this year.

After this week (vs Raceland), we will be able to tell if West is overrated or not. We could easily say Burg is overrated due to the teams they beat having a record of 3-13 but Burg is not overrated. West seems to be playing well this season and only time will tell. To me, Burg is like Portsmouth back when Portsmouth was rolling through every team(98-02), no team around here is at that level that Burg is at. When you WIN your athletes want to play and more kids come out. I have no affiliation to the Burg nor West but watching the Burg these last couple of years has been fun, the same as it was when Portsmouth was winning. To be ranked in the state I do agree they shouldn't be but to be area ranked then yes.

I don't understand how everyone thinks Wheelersburg is on another level. They are a very good football team but there not the greatest to play around here. Also yes last week was a big win against Watterson but Watterson was 3-7 last year and got pummeled in a few games. Look at what Hartley did to them. That would make them what Chillicothe if you compare scores. I don't think Chilli is a serious state contender in D3. Also, look at game last year vs burg. West played them tough lost by 10 in a hard fought game. West returns more than Wheelersburg. So to say they are on a different level is a little premature. West also played Burg in a jv game the other night wherem West was predominately Freshman and Burg played at least one senior who plays special teams on Friday night along with multiple juniors and about won the game. They scored on west with a hook and ladder right before the half. The final was 12-8 Burg. So don't be surprised if they get challenged by West this year.

Especially from a mere mortal team like west. To ever question the Burg or give any other local team credit should be punishable by instant removal from the sight and should be made to write 10,000 sentences . Thou shall not ever question Wheelersburg. Where is P(irate) or Burg06 will a quick response and sharp tongue lashing for ever thinking a team like west should be mentioned in the same breath as wheelersburg.

Just play the game each week. They could surprise everyone and win out the regular season or bad luck hits and lose every game. Or somewhere in between. Right now West is a good team and getting better. Which is what you want from your team. West deserves to be talked about but talk doesn't win games.

Anyways, back on subject. I do think West is good and have dominated games since the 2nd half of Portsmouth where they kind of found an identity but I think they still have a lot to prove and have a very tough test tomorrow night. If they can win over there then West as far as I'm concerned deserves recognition

I agree with laser breath here, West is good.. Burg is just much better.
Fairland got the ball back with around a minute and a half left vs west to try and win the game. Burg just toyed with my Dragons.
