It will also be the Oaks first real test of the year..IMOVladimir wrote:As Minford fans remember last year, no one thinks this game will be a blowout. This will be the Falcons first real test of the year look for them to be focused.

Re: WEEK 5-MINFORD @ OAK HILL
Probably one of the best games in the area this Friday, along with the Jackson and Burg match-up.
Same situation for Oak Hill, a bit of an underdog but can definitely hang around with Minford. Too bad the Gilliland (spelling?) kid out for Oak Hill with broken leg he would have been a big help on both sides of the ball. Also, I think this is the week a transfer or 2 at Oak Hill may be eligible? Not certain about all the rules but they are very good players.
Good luck Oaks.

I knew the Falcons were in for a dog fight at Oak Hill.
Go Red, get it going in the 2nd half!!

I want to see the penalty difference in this game geez. Seems like every time Minford was In the redzone the flags were flying!
Re: WEEK 5-MINFORD @ OAK HILL
good win for the falcons but the only team who stands to gain all the points is Oak hill, Minford is D-4 and Oaks are D-6 so albeit always a great game and nothing wrong with that but if Minford had lost this game then they would be in the fight of their life to make playoffs.

Re: WEEK 5-MINFORD @ OAK HILL
I'm still waiting for the falcons to put a complete game together. Penalties and turnovers will haunt this team later this season if they don't get corrected. Good game oaks you made them earn every yard.

Re: WEEK 5-MINFORD @ OAK HILL
Sounds like Oak Hill came out and smacked the Falcons in the mouth and lead going into the half. This is exactly what Minford needed. It speaks volumes about a team who can grab its composure, and persevere thru the game and win. This was a good test for Minford. The Falcons showed they had the guts to come back and play to their ability and win by double digits.
Great job Red!! NOW BRING ON THEM SIDERS!!!!!

AMEN TO THAT!!!! If the passing game can be on all cylinders, and cut out turnovers, then we can be tough to beat by ANYONE. With that being said, the Falcons did wake up in 2nd half and took care of business. Pass defense needs to be tuned up. There's no reason to give up a TD, let alone a 1st down, on 3rd & 29. We need to do a better job involving situational football. The run defense was excellent tonight, as the Oaks had maybe 40 yards tonight on the ground. Oak Hill is a solid team, but if we can put together a complete game like we did against Fairland (who I believe will win the OVC & make the playoffs), then we can beat anyone we play. Continue to work hard Falcons!!! Conference opener at West next week!!!
Re: WEEK 5-MINFORD @ OAK HILL
The Falcons needed this game to be exactly what it was. The first four weeks have not challenged the Falcons and they needed this game to get them ready for the rest of the season. The Oaks were prepared for the traditional Minford offense which caused the Falcons some problems. The best thing the Falcons kept coming and got the win,
