im not slamming any program you all are much improved from last season and vc will probably finish around 5-5 which isn't so bad.....im not disrespecting anyone but I will say respect isn't given its earned....a team like Athens earns respect every week we will see if vc pulls themselves from the tvc cellar and earns theres I hope you all finish 8-2

Well IMO kids deserve respect no matter what cause that's all they are is kids! We have to play Athens too & we know they are one of the best teams in southern Ohio & we feel that Gahs is too. No one was disrespectful to you or GAHS but that previous post kind of sounded a little disrespectful. If we end up 5-5 then that is what it is it our kids and staff will be classy and respectful. Good luck to you all Friday.

I see there is still that arrogance spewing from some of the SEOAL fans. Gallia should be favored in this game by about 2 touchdowns. But if VC plays well, it could come down to the very end. This is only the second home game (week 1) for the Vikings so I'd say they'll be even more jacked up to play at the Valhalla. If Gallia thinks this is the same VC team as last year, and the two seasons they played a few years ago, they're in for a surprise.

I am pretty sure that the folks that count (the ones in that weight room on 4th Ave.) are NOT taking Vinton Co. lightly.

Is Justy still coaching VC? Wishing him and the boys a good season , with the exception of this week. VC looks to be on the right track this year but Have to go with my GAHS boys this week. Don't see a blow out , based on what I'm hearing but I'll take GA by 14 plus .

I bet yoou are right GG78. IMO we are going to see one heck of a football game Friday. A game that neither team will forget for a long time. The type of game that when it is over and the kids are shaking hands a lot of respect and admiration is given between players. Its going to be fun to watch. Can't wait!!!

Yes dew, Justy is still at VC. Imo he has done a pretty good job rebuilding considering just how far down the program was when he took over.

Last year, GAHS won 40-12. Blue Devils broke it open in first period with 20 unanswered points, led 27-6 at halftime and led 34-6 going into the final period.

I believe this is the third game in the GAHS-VC grid series. GAHS won at Vinton County 2 years ago. Blue Devils used to scrimmage the Vikings about every year during the 80s and 90s. Some of those Viking teams really put it on the Gallians in pre-season scrimmages.

Thanks transplant. I'm having a lot of fun doing it but I sure miss not being able to see the Vikings rebirthing season! I was at every game.. win or lose. Its a little weird not going to a VC game every Friday. Maybe I was the bad luck! Lol

VC has two more chances to win this season. This week will not be one of those.

Could be a shootout or a defensive struggle! Which team limits turnovers and penalties should take it.
Both teams loses came to possible state championship teams in their respective divisions. That is not impossible for either team of Bloom Carrol, and our own Athens Bulldogs.

It is time for the football Vikes to standup and be recognized. Be like one keeps hearing about great cross country squad and our awesome high school golfers.
Hats off to Coaches K and Coach Pup Hale, good luck rest the way guys. So tee it up football Vikes: play hard, play smart, run fast, and win.

GO VIKES

This is the attitude VC loves to hear. The way I see it, VC has 5 more chances to win this season realistically. Athens, no way.. the rest of the TVC, yes way. And this game is also winnable. Keep underestimating them :)

i think vinton county would be awful disappointed if they finished 5-5. i think the wheels almost have to come off for that to happen. i think they have an excellent shot at finishing 7-3. Gallia academy will have to play its best game so far to secure a win easily. We have improved in some phase of the game each week. if that continues and we take no steps back Gallia should win this week.
