WEEK 4-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH (SAT.)
The TroJans are vastly improved. Their skilled players will pose problems for every team on their schedule, but the difference in this game will be the line of scrimmage, in which the advantage should heavily favor Minford. Falcon fans should still see a balanced offensive attack, as we have seen so far this year. The Falcon defense has also played very well this year. In addition, the Trojans suffered a critical injury to one of their best players in Robinson. That will hurt them. The visitors take care of business next week. GO FALCONS!!!!

Great game to go see. Minford should pick up the win easily. The line is going to determine this game and Minford has a good one. Good luck to both and stay injury free.

I would have to take Minford in this one. If Portsmouth hadn't lost Robinson it may have been closer but I think Minford wins in convincing fashion.
Re: WEEK 4-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH (SAT.)
sad news about Darian, losing his speed really hurts our chances , I like Minford big, that being said go get em Trojans

Re: WEEK 4-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH (SAT.)
Portsmouth will face the best offensive and defensive lines they have faced all year this week. If Minford controls the clock and limits turnovers this game will be over in 3.
Re: WEEK 4-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH (SAT.)
Minford has to stop Charles. Yes Portsmouth has speedsters but Charles is the back that can wear on you and open up the outside for the speed to take over. I think Minford has the DE's to contain the stretch plays and LB's to keep Charles at bay. The real test for Minford will be the secondary as Portsmouth will try to throw the ball.
Minford is just too much at the line of scrimmage and I think they win by 14.
Like 28buck said......cant afford to put the ball on the ground against a much improved Trojans squad.

I agree PHS still is a very dangerous team. They were in the ball game up until mid-3rd quarter and couldn't convert in the red zone in two attempts. Then W'burg took over. The big plays PHS had were passes over 20+ yards, so Minford's secondary will be tested. Both their TDs came from deep passes.

So you are saying minford is better Than Burg and Valley......???? Thats funny I could say the same about minford facing it best team that they have played this year.....28Buck wrote:Portsmouth will face the best offensive and defensive lines they have faced all year this week. No he said that this is the best offense and defensive line portsmouth will face which is true. i have seen Valley n Burg both play and i honeslty believe minford is the best all around team in the SOC. They have 3 above average backs and talented quaterback not the best tho but they do have the two best lineman in the league along with the best Oline and Dline in the SOC. Also a very good group of linebackers who know how to play the game well. Secondary is our weakest spot on the team honeslty i think the gold ball comes down to who wins week 10 in minford.Here4Fun wrote:So you are saying minford is better Than Burg and Valley......???? Wheelersburg might have something to say about about that gold ball, and have a big say in it. I do think Minford has their toughest test of the year thus far in an improved Portsmouth team.

I think they will too but I just believe it will be determined week 10 in Minford.

Without Robinson this is a no brainer. With him still take Falcons only more of a game. Good Luck both, an injury free game
Re: WEEK 4-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH (SAT.)
Minford probably will win this game but I think the SOC2 will be decided between Valley and Burg...Other than Piketon last year, Minford really has not won any respectible game in a couple years. This seems to happen every year...then they completely struggle with Burg and Valley...I could be wrong but I have seen this all before. Minford's big lines actually hinder them against faster teams that use the edge and have quick receivers. Burg is 51-7 lifetime against the Falcons and until something changes every year is like Grandhog Season. Will always root for SOC2 in non-conference games and the playoffs...With Miford in D4, Burg D5, and Valley D6, hopefully we can represent well come later in the fall. Good luck this week Falcons...no disrespect at all toward the Falcons and totally respect the positive changes they have made the last several years.Falconfan09 wrote:I think they will too but I just believe it will be determined week 10 in Minford.
Re: WEEK 4-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH (SAT.)
MInford does have plenty of speed on the edges this year to go with their lines. Also, I've seen this before on another thread, the all time series against W'burg is 51-7; however, Minford didn't start their football program until the 1960 season. Since the year 2000, you can count 4 of those wins. I'd believe more like 46-7. Although I agree the series is lopsided in W'burg's favor, but 58 years just doesn't add up. I also agree MInford does need to prove themselves in big games and in the playoffs.
Also Minford doesn't have a problem beating Valley, they've just lost the past two years the same as W'burg has lost to Valley.
