Not what I was saying at all. IMO after having seen Burg and Valley both play Portsmouth I feel Minford's line play is better at this point.Here4Fun wrote: So you are saying minford is better Than Burg and Valley......???? Thats funny I could say the same about minford facing it best team that they have played this year.....
WEEK 4-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH (SAT.)

This one will probably get a little ugly for the Trojans, hopefully the boys come out and play hard anyways. Go Trojans
Re: WEEK 4-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH (SAT.)
Minford's line is good and they may be better than Valley and Burg, but they aren't going to whip them up front every play. Both Burg and Valley have pretty good lines. Miller, I believe, hasn't been sacked yet. Those games will come down to skill play and turnovers, and special teams.28Buck wrote:Not what I was saying at all. Minford will win but this will gauge them a bit better, Portsmouth has athletes. Would not be surprised if Oliver is QB.
Re: WEEK 4-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH (SAT.)
I agree they wont beat them every play that's hard at every level but this will be a good gauge for us as you said only time will tell how everything turns out. I mean it is the SOC we are talking her!wobycat wrote:Minford's line is good and they may be better than Valley and Burg, but they aren't going to whip them up front every play. Kickoff on Saturdays is usually @ 7PM.Vladimir wrote:What time is kickoff?
Re: WEEK 4-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH (SAT.)
Kickoff is slated for 7:30 pm "According to the schools website, the OHSAA website and WNXT. The normal start time is givin to also assist the band. Minford performs in a marching band competition at Rock Hill (4pm), which will give us a little extra time to perform, load up and head to the stadium before kickoff.
Re: WEEK 4-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH (SAT.)
Most Saturday games kickoff at 7:00 but I have not seen the time yet...just check so you don't miss anything if that is the case.
Re: WEEK 4-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH (SAT.)
That what wondering if it's a 7:00 kickoff b/c on Sat. Probably safe just to plan on being there by 6:00pm. This will be standing room only since it's the only game in the area Saturday evening.
Re: WEEK 4-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH (SAT.)
When Oliver came in for a short time against Burg, I was kinda surprised. He is very mobile and threw a couple decent passes.wobycat wrote:Minford will win but this will gauge them a bit better, Portsmouth has athletes. Would not be surprised if Oliver is QB.
Is there any reason this game is on Saturday other than to maybe get a bigger gate?
Re: WEEK 4-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH (SAT.)
I would like to see a game on Saturday every week like you said a bigger gate and to be able to see other teams before getting into SOC play....4th n Goal wrote:When Oliver came in for a short time against Burg, I was kinda surprised. Re: WEEK 4-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH (SAT.)
I'm not gonna get into the Burg/Valley/Minford debate, as that'll all be settled in the coming weeks. All 3 ARE playoff teams, however.
It hurts Ptown that Robinson went down, but they are improved. They will hang around early, as they have in the 2 losses, but will not have the horses to stay with the Falcons for 4 QTRS.
Minford 35
Portsmouth 14

I don't expect as big of margin as the Wheelersburg game but I expect Minford to win handedly. Minford is about that dominate line play. I like what Minford brings to the table. Good luck to both squads!
Re: WEEK 4-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH (SAT.)
Game time is upon us. What do you say Falcon Nation. Let's go down to Trojan land and get the big win. Can't wait to see all the peeps in the stands to see this one.
