Re: Athens (2-0) at Warren (1-1)
I know everyone likes to talk about the high scoring Athens offense but so far the Athens Defense has been equally impressive. If the Bulldogs plays the way they did last night then they should be able to take care of business, if Athens gets caught looking ahead to the Jackson matchup (classic trap game) then Warren probably make this one uncomfortable for the Dogs and their fans.

Question:
How did Warren drop from DII to DIV?
Did they have a drop off in enrollment?
I thought they would be DIII like Athens and Jackson?
Also Agree about the Athens Defense...
They are playing tough, hard nose Defense causing turnovers and limiting BIG plays!

Athens will earn another win and just one step closer to another TVC-Ohio championship
Athens-52
Warren-14
Good luck to both teams and stay healthy

Warren had one of the biggest drops in the state QM. They fell from 356 in the previous count to 279, down 77 (over 25 boys per class) in just 2 years!questionmark wrote:Question:

It is not just the problems with the school Pol Pot, Washington County has been hit with jobs loss that has touched a lot of families and some have picked up and left the area. Those in our district that have kids and given the recent trials and tribulations of the district have chose to home school their kids and so they are not in the school and some have left and went to the surrounding districts such as Marietta, Fed Hock, Belpre and so on.Pol Pot wrote:People are leaving Warren in droves, major financial problems.

Well, isn't that what I just said? They are leaving in droves, and they are going to other districts within Washington County (Marietta and Belpre). Heck you guys lost almost your entire administration last year, that's tough times.bigbluedad wrote:It is not just the problems with the school Pol Pot, Washington County has been hit with jobs loss that has touched a lot of families and some have picked up and left the area. I believe that home schooled kids are still eligible to play sports in their home school district.bigbluedad wrote:It is not just the problems with the school Pol Pot, Washington County has been hit with jobs loss that has touched a lot of families and some have picked up and left the area. Yes they are and Warren did not drop two divisions because of Home school kids. The District has problems and people are bailing.A-Town Big Dog 2 wrote:I believe that home schooled kids are still eligible to play sports in their home school district.bigbluedad wrote:It is not just the problems with the school Pol Pot, Washington County has been hit with jobs loss that has touched a lot of families and some have picked up and left the area. Dogs look to good and play very well as a team they all show leader ship on there team it isn't just one person as a leader on the team the whole team is on big heart and they all pick each other up in areas where someone maybe struggling in a game...so with that being said the dogs will win this game I say by 3 or more scores there is way to much talent on this team and burrows is very comfortable with his O line in protecting him and giving him time in making decisions....Athens was down for a lot of years and its about time they come out of that slump...So I hope my Buckeyes can get over there slump and make an impact and pull together like Athens is doing now...they have a dynamite Program down in Athens my hats off to the team and there coaching staff....Good luck dogs everyone in the Athens area will be rooting for you in the playoffs no matter what school there from all of Athens county comes together when a team makes the play offs and roots for eachother!!!!
Re: Athens (2-0) at Warren (1-1)
Ugly early and often in this one. Athens will score as many as they choose to.
