Re: WK3 (2-0) Wheelersburg @ (1-1) Portsmouth
Looking forward to the outcome of this game. I've seen the well oiled machine of burg on offense but I still have reservations a out the D?? They have potential to put a ton of points up! Good luck to both teams!
Re: WK3 (2-0) Wheelersburg @ (1-1) Portsmouth
after only 2 games i am sure the defense and offense will continue to improve i felt that CG o-line was really good with the scheme they run "old school". also felt that CG's defense hung in their as long as they could. the great thing about the burg right now is they are in really good condition. good size with kids looking in shape and you can tell they are a lot stronger then in the past. the skilled athletes run none stop all night on offense and defense. never see them loaf the whole game. thats impressive. only the 2nd game but i like their confidence on the field and leadership.

That sounds impressive. To what do you contribute them being in such extraordinary shape as to years past? If you are correct they should be able to control the score this week.

Depth is not an issue as in years past. More guys to rep in and special team players.urban buck wrote:That sounds impressive. To what do you contribute them being in such extraordinary shape as to years past? If you are correct they should be able to control the score this week.

Agreed on both accounts. I think Claxon and May need to get the ball in their hands more on the short slants and bubble screens. They are both quick and dangerous when they get in the open field.Sports_Tracker wrote:Burg by three scores. Can not wait until everyone is 100%.

This could be a close game and a high scoring game.
It will come down to who has the energy to close it out in the 4th Quarter be a good game for sure.

We all know that both offenses are high powered and fast. My question is, Which team has the best Defense? Think this might determine the outcome to this game. When I watch Portsmouth play Valley. That is the one thing that impressed me the most about Portsmouth. Their D was 100% better. The were fast to the ball, gang tackled and didnt miss many tackles. I havent seen Burgs D yet. But I believe this will be the key to the game

Although I want to see a Burg win here, It’s refreshing to hear about Portsmouth having new energy and being competitive once again. Could be a good one.

Very good point Portsmouth has seen some very good, hard to bring down RB's the first 2 weeks and have showed they are not last years Trojans, while Burg should last week that they can give up the big play on the ground.nutronron2012 wrote:We all know that both offenses are high powered and fast. Burg wins 42-14. Trojans were fast just as advertised and hit a couple times for long TD passes, but for the most part the Pirates contained the Trojans all night. The offense once again looked like a well oiled machine. I think Dylan Millers 92 yard pick six was the dagger for the Trojans. They just bever got on track after that.
Good win for the Burg to move to 3-0.

Re: WK3 (2-0) Wheelersburg @ (1-1) Portsmouth
I have a question if anyone knows the answer. When did it not become a penalty when a team wasn't out of the locker room and on the field before the end of the half? Portsmouth was not on the field when the clock ran out at halftime and yet there was no penalty. Is this not a penalty anymore? Not complaining, just wondering if this has changed.
Also, why do they allow teams to come out with just a few seconds left anyway and then put 3 minutes back on the clock. Why not just do a 25 minute half and make them be out before the last 3 minutes or make them come out at 3 minutes to go.

Could you tell if the kid was inbounds on Portsmouths score right before the half? It looked like he caught it out of bounds.Crab's brother wrote:This game is on time Warner right now.

Portsmouth played with burg for a quarter and that was it. That one quarter I was impressed with though. I hear Robinson may have tore his acl (pray not) him leaving hurt a lot. Wouldn't have changed the outcome but still. Eddie Miller is as good as advertised, made plays with his arm & feet. The putting 3 minutes back on the clock really isn't that big of a deal, the bands were on the field forever that's why. Good luck to burg the rest of the season they will be tough to beat. Go Trojans

It's not just tonights game, it's every game for the last few years. Teams come out right as time expires and they put three more minutes on the clock. That never happened years ago. The officials went in and told them to get on the field and they came out and warmed up. Now it happens every game. I was just wondering if there was a rule change that allows this now and for teams to not be on the field before the clock expires. That used to be a penalty.portsmouth_trojan59 wrote:Portsmouth played with burg for a quarter and that was it. That one quarter I was impressed with though.
